Yes, even dumber than the Kindle.

For those not in The Know, CoinStar is a green machine found in many grocery stores, usually where the ATMs are. The CoinStar machine takes your spare change and prints out a receipt for you to take to a register; the register then gives you the amount of money you had in cash so you're not carrying coins around.

Sounds good, right? But wait: COINSTAR CHARGES YOU TO COUNT YOUR COINS.

Think about this for a minute. Just think about it. They are charging you--taking away your money--to count your money.

You know what can count change for free? Anyone over the age of five.

So yeah, you have to carry a few more pennies in your pocket--but is it really worth it to pay money to be told how much money you have?

ITT: Discuss stupid products/services.

Theokhoth

I don't understand how this is stupid. I have a huge jar in my room full of coins; whenever i'm low on money i'll grab a baggy or a pouch and i'll pour some in. It's spare money. There's one in both of my grocery store amdIt's barely 10 cents off the dollar. Of course it has a fee. Do you think a rich person funds this company and doesn't need money to build the machines? Or pay the employees to empty them? It's a service and a convience you pay for. Just like fast food. I'll assume you've eaten it before, seeing as most people have. You paid someone $8 to make you a burger and fries. When you can simply go into a grocery store, and buy more food that will last you longer. You are paying for a service. It may not be right to charge to count your own money, but you know the best part about that? You don't have to use it :D

Pretty normal ones.

Spiders- The way they crawl, and how big some garden spiders can be. Not to mention the biting.

The fear of falling- I'm not really scared of heights. I work on ladders all day, I'm perfectly fine on top of one. Now until something shakes, or something falls, the sweat and fear starts. :/

[QUOTE="Solairic_Vear"] It's sad. It really is. I am an American, and I will admit. This is a terrible place. The people here are rude, obnoxious, and loud. I hate the stereotype they've given us. Not everyone who lives here is fat and lazy. There's so many issues at hand that need to be fixed. I'm not proud of this country I live in.LJS9502_basic

I've bolded the contradiction....

Lol, I see. What I meant was that a majority of this country has given everyone that title. When It's not true. I actually meant that to be in quotations in my post, to insinuate that's what everyone thinks. It's true, to a point. Not every American is like that though. Good catch though! Thanks for pointing that out.

Is ... is it true?

Yup, and many Americans are proud of most of those things.

It was a good series of books. Let's see though. I have a few. Harry Potter series is one for me. What can I say? I pretty much grew up with it (now 20) and It'll always be a great book series, In my opinion. Besides that, House of Leaves was pretty good. Almost took me a full year to read, however. It was an incredibly creepy book, with some great parts. If you've ever actually looked at some of the writing, it can be challenging to read. It was still entertaining, none the less. Besides those, I always have liked the trilogy of The DaVinci Code. I've read those numerous times. I don't exactly believe the story, like some people do. The Zombie Survival Guide was a pretty good read, as well. Definitely entertaining and one of the books I take with me on long car rides. (Just in case :P) For the nerd in me, I'm going to have to say the original Halo trilogy of books. The Fall of Reach, First Strike, and The Flood. Some of the ones after were good. I just never got to read all of them like I wanted. Oh and the Nicolas Flamel "Alchemist" series was a pretty great read. I still find myself going back to those for an interesting read. Sorry about the massive wall of text, :P

I'm surprised no one has said Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
