I have a Samsung S27A950D monitor with an audio output jack. I connected an HDMI to DVI cable from my computer to my monitor and then an external speaker from the monitor but there's no sound. An information panel came up telling me that I would need a separate audio cable going to my monitor. Lol. WTF is the point of the HDMI audio on this card if it can't use it?
I was deciding to sell my SyncMaster 27A950D monitor and buy the 27B970D but I've decided to stick with the 3D monitor, well, providing I can find a kick ass set of glasses that can help reduce crosstalk. The ones I have are alright, except of some movies, the crosstalk is too noticable. Does anyone know of any good 3D glasses that are either Samsung or universal. Thanks!
Definitely better off with stereo speakers like these from M-Audio for $299 than any sound bar...
I don't see how its possible to not fit bookshelf speakers anywhere unless you're in a closet lol.

+1 I have a pair of M-Audio AV40's and they are superb for everything. The BX5's are even better. Just do what I did, purchase some speaker stands for cheap and you are done.
Like I said, it's a corner desk and there's no room for speaker stands or speakers, otherwise I would've done that. My desk did come with a top shelf attachment but there isn't much room for speakers unless you know of a good set that's less than 3" wide and 6" high or a set that be mounted. I can probably drill a few holes in the shelf brackets and mount them there.
