[QUOTE="123625"][QUOTE="Serraph105"][QUOTE="htekemerald"]Apperenlty god created eveything, according to christains, (who created god again?). Therefore god created evil. Do you people actualy worship a good that created evil?xxDustmanxx
i dont want to sound too much like a smart *** here but i like to think of it like this God created free will and we created evil with that
I would think evil is just a result of having free will.
Then the absence of freedom is righteous?
More like slavery if you ask me.

It's astonishing really, I mean when you look at many of the actions performed by Yahweh in the OT you'll find the being is hardly one bent on altruistic designs. And then those following the Judeo-Christian belief system have the problem of explaining why Yahweh literally ignored those outside of the Hebrew tribes. Obviously one can accept the idea that if Jesus is deity that he might have been murdered in various incarnations before his message took root, but the whole world, come on.
[QUOTE="Mr_sprinkles"]I'm guessing you've never had sex? Theres a lot more to it than the bit where the baby comes out...harashawn
 I'm talking about what it's meant for, not why people do it.
That's all very well & good, but considering the fact that humans are one of the few species that have sex outside of times when the female is in heat clearly says that it exists for more then just reproduction.
HELLO EVERYONE! :D **PLEASE READ THIS** I took a lot of time to write it, and it might help some of you get a better understanding of this topic :P I'm only 15.
I need all of you to understand something. "Hell" is not a place where we suffer, really. Hell is a word used to describe the absence of God. The next world is not materialistic in any way, there is no time and space. The human mind can not comprehend the next world, if we knew what it was like we would no longer want to live here. This world compared to the next is like the black in the eye of a dead ant. I believe in God because of faith, and all the prophets that come to us and send us a message. Also, when we say that Christ will come back, we do not mean that he himself as a human will come back, we mean in spiritual form. This has already happened when the Bahai Faith was founded. The Promised one of all ages is the prophet for today. look at http://info.bahai.org/
God does not make humanity suffer in any way. He does not send people to "hell", they do not suffer. There can't be a physical feeling like suffering in the next world. When people die of starvation, diseases, etc, manking must use the power of intellect to help humanity. God gave human beings the power of free will and intellect, so we do not take the ways of an animal. Animals just eat, sleep, and reproduce. Human beings must learn to go farther than that and show compassion and love for one another. If we do wrong here, there is an absence of god in the next world, not satan and fiery depths and what not. just seeing that makind has been given the power of intellect and free will to become individuals and show virtues such as love, patience, compassion, etc. shows god. it is faith that keeps people's belief. if we don't have this faith and rely on materialistic things for the rest of our lives, such as money and personal pleaures, are we helping ourselves really? are we going to take this money, materialistic pleasure, etc. with us when we die? No. This is why we show spiritual emotions like peace and love to the world. I hope this helps.

This is all well and good, but next time think of the word stasis when talking about a universe outside the boundary of time.
I believe in a god, just not a theistic one.
The reason of course is that I'm a naturalist, and that since atoms are composed of energy. I thus think of energy as an impersonal god. Not to mention that whole issue regarding the arrogance of man to actually think that out of this whole universe, that somehow an all powerful deity would actually give a damn about this misbegotten mud ball. And when one considers the potential for the actual size of the universe, and to actual give serious credence to other intelligent life...
