@jacquelineferre @SlimeSwayze Ha. Look, I may be a lot of things, but I'm not stupid. I'm sure the X1 will have some decent games in two or three years and will maybe be worth owning by then if there's a price drop, but that hardware at that price is a terrible deal for anyone that isn't simply loyal to the brand. I play games for the games, not the name on the box.

@Furwings Agreed. The more I play it the more I realize that Tom, and a handful of other reviewers, have failed to do their job on the most fundamental level due to the fact that they've completely lost perspective on what it means to be an objective critic. I used to like Gamespot because I felt they were more critical than a lot of other publications, but they've gone beyond critical and into cynical, which is why I've lost all faith in their ability to do their jobs.

All I can think is that this reviewer is incompetent and has completely lost touch with why he even got into this business in the first place. The game isn't a masterpiece, far from it in fact, but good lord is it fun to play.

Every time I start to consider pre-ordering an XBone, I see an article like this and it reminds me why I will never buy one.

As much as I love Nintendo for the entertainment they provided me as a kid, they've utterly lost the plot.

It's sad that this game gets so much attention while the recent Mickey Castle of Illusion remake, which is a much better game, went completely under the radar.

@R083R70 @SlimeSwayze You clearly took my post very personally. That being the case, there's not much for you and I to discuss. I hope you like the new game.

Does Kojima objectify women? Of course he does. But does anything Kojima do really matter in the bigger scheme of things? Not really. The man is clearly past his prime, and pretty much anytime he opens his mouth now, garbage spills out. He's become another in a long line of talented people who have mistaken their talent for genius, in large part due to their own delusional, childish, and out of touch fanbase. I hope the game turns out good, but at this point I know better than to expect anything really exceptional from this guy, and if anything it will likely be a game I'll be embarrassed to play if there is another adult in the room. Kojima caters to adolescents, and those of use outside of his target demographic will just have to suffer through the nonsense and hopefully find some semblance of a fun game underneath it all.

And people still respect this guy as a developer...
