Hey guys,

Im back and I need more help!

Over the past 2-3 weeks I have been running into a problem with my old dell dimension 4700 pc. I'll start off by telling you the specs of the pc.

Intel P4 3.0GHZ
4 GB Ram (only sees 3.2 GB)
1 x 80GB Hard Drive (os and some storage)
1 x 250GB Hard Drive (storage)
ATI 3650 DDR2
Windows XP Service Pack 3 32 Bit
300 Watt Power Supply from Dell

Computer is very decent for everyday use and occasional CS:S and Sims 3

Anyways over the past 2-3 weeks I have been receiving random system freezes and crashes, but i am truly baffled as I receive no BSOD's or error messages?
At first the crashes (whole system freezes including movement of mouse) somewhat stutter, with the computer freezing for one second, then coming back again, only to freeze after a few second for longer.
This pattern continues until I have to do a hard reset. This would begin to happen, when I was using the computer for about twenty minutes and was using winamp.
It always didn't happen, but when it did that was the case. I uninstalled winamp thinking it was a software issue, but now it happens when I use bitcomet.
This never used to happen, when I used those programs as I had bitcomet installed for 2 plus years and winamp for 6 months. Im thinking that maybe my hard drive is dying on me or my power supply is biting the bullet.

I really do hope that it is a software issue. I have ran virus checks, spyware checks, registry cleaners, the whole 9 yards. Any advice on what could be the problem.

*Remember the computer will freeze for one second, that come out of it, than freeze for like three and continue the cycle getting longer, until I have to hard reset it.

Also it seems the problem is only my specific account as no one else in my household has complained about this problem.

So I had sims 2 and a couple of the expansions on my 80GB hard drive with the windows installation.

Everything was working excellent at that point. I added a second 250GB hard drive and added more expansions on the extra hard drive. Now my games performance has gone down, with load times taking a while.

Is it because the game and expansions are over 2 hard drives, or is it because I installed some expansions the drive without the windows install?

Pretty Weak machine how much you paid it and when ? if i was you id return it if you seek a gaming machine and make my own trough newegg.com or newegg.ca if you'r canadian As you can see the X3 8450 you don't know much about cpu but it pretty Weak So is the Video card But you can get a 8800GT or Better as Video card Even tough the cpu is pretty slow compare to the newest in generation from piece to piece but if ur bios wasn't locked and ad a better case + airflow
such as antec 900 + thermalright 120 extreme you would overclock ti to 3.0ghz like cake so then you could match a little the E8200
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2008/04/23/amd_phenom_x3_8750/5 it shame that the X3 Is a failure

The Pc you can buy from pre-build are mostly alway cheap they aimed to the people that aspire a gaming machine while unaware of that they buy
so in reality people who buy pre-build pc buy junk piece overpriced that is just not aimed for that goal at last that what i could observe In reality they made for student or w/e that as to be playing old game from 2-3 Year Past Generation on 1280x1024 not aiming higher resolution
because of the lack fo cpu / overclock / Video card / they Offer for price & cheap motherboard that is locked in most of them + a non RETAIL / OEM Vista
That is Company Registered That only work on HP machine no switching to other pc if you make one in future you'r stuck with a OS that only work with HP
another thing iv observed within all HP machine That did that with XP

Do not buy parts or attempt to build a machine through Newegg.ca. Please use NCIX and online pricematch if you the see the price of a part cheaper on the web. Shipping is cheap and quick and serivce is excellent. Newegg.ca will have the occasional good deal, but shipping ususally kills it. Also try DirectCanada and Infonec.

Well Im starting to put some money down now, so that I can build a computer a short time after Nehalem hits the market. Im just want some suggestions on good websites with big communities that have reviews for computer parts, guides to overclocking and advanced tech stuff. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I'm looking for a good surround sound headset for my 360 that can be used for private chat and voice communication. Not looking for something at around 150, but something under 100. Thanks for the suggestions in advance.

My 360 recently RROD and I got it back and it has been working very well. But I feel that the best course of action is to get the extended warranty that XBOX offers. XBOX WARRANTY

Does anyone have this warranty and how does it exactly work. Thanks in advance.

Dont worry guys! My xbox died and I sent it in, it came back really quick (2 weeks) but it was dead out the box. Finally got a good one working and it took 2 weeks again. But it really doesnt feel as long as i thought it would.
