[QUOTE="teebeenz"]Just to give you an example, USB has a max bandwidth of 480mbits a second, while HDMI has over 10gigabits per second. See the problem?GilHeradNot disputing this but I dont see the point as BD has a bandwidth of 54 Mbps... Again, thats compressed. The drive has 54Mbps, but that will decode to a significantly larger stream.

An HD-DVD or Blu Ray contains compressed MPEG 4 (or 2 with Blu Ray). The 360 uncompresses the signal and sends the it over component or VGA.

i personally dont need to see your face every minute of the day, or every day for that matter if things were that easy. maybe the "girlfriend" should go find a hobby or something to fulfill the waste of time she using telling others what and what not they should be doing. DesmondPillsAmen
Actually, the CRTC has nothing to do with the absence of TV and movie downloads via XBL. The CRTC are primarily responsible for programming on regular television, NOT responsible for the XBL download service. This is Microsoft's responsibility. If the shows are legitimately paid for and are suitable for audiences, the CRTC won't even care if they are downloadable or not.NaaN_BreaDThe CRTC, like the FCC, governs ALL legal distribution of broadcast media. So it IS under its jurisiction. The real problem is the FCC license agreements apply in America only. Take that media to Canada, then, and you have to settle issues of taxes, cross country royalties agreements, content approval.
Regardless of what the 'I want it now' generation thinks, things dont just happen at the snap of a finger in this world. Its not just as simple as Microsoft saying 'we want to broadcast in Canada'...
Duke University did a study a couple years ago where they hardwired a robotic arm into a monkeys brain. After awhile the monkey could move the arm around like it was its own, which is cool, but it didn't work better than its own arms... The way the brain interfaces with the outside world is always going to be subject to motor skillz, so theres no point. Your hands are really the best form of control there is.
Unless you are paralyzed ^ but Im guessing most of us here aren't.
[QUOTE="lukasz_erecinsk"]Good stuff.... If you are correct about the games that are to-be shown, then there truly will be an info-overload-day :) subrosianGDC is bigger than ever thanks to the fall of E3. Microsoft already unveiled the new 512mb memory card for the 360 - the old one will be price cut by $10 in April. If they're going to do a price cut or show the "project zephyr" before the summer this will probably be the place they chose to do it - otherwise we're going to have to wait to see it. Just to add to that, the limit on XBLA games is jumping from 50MB to 150MB
