I had my original Playstation 2 since Christmas 2001 been working fine since then to now and still is going strong.Slimline i've had since last year or year before.. am not sure.
Please get Sonic. Sonic is worth getting. Also WarioWare is worth it too, pretty fun although haven't played yet. xD
