The PS3 is already in 1st place. The 360 is in second and the Wii U is in 3rd. The Wii was always a last gen system along with the Gamecube, even Miyamto agrees so don't try to argue otherwise.

Miyamoto On the Wii: "The Hardware Is Basically A GameCube."

Assassin_87

Your opinion doesn't not change facts. Wii is 7th gen along with 360 and ps3

Miyamoto's own words > some guy on System Wars.

Read the whole article (remember its dated from '06) and pay special attention to the words "enhanced graphical capability". In addition the hardware may be similar but last time I checked gameplay on the Gamecube and the Wii differed quite a bit, one had a new control method the other did not... Oh and a usefull edit is that people in this thread already claimed graphical capabilities, not time, seperate the gens. Once again makeing that arguement conflicting

I think I'm gonna take the plunge and buy one this weekend. In addition to the ports already out I have a good feeling that Nintendo's first party games will be stellar like usual. The technology is intriguing to me and I'd rather support a company I love then to buy a competing console for 3rd party games...

The whole Wii wasn't in the X-box 360 PS3 gen argument is null based purely on that logic. Following some of the Wii haters logic that would put Wii-U in the same gen as 360 and PS3. Okay, then that puts the wii competing against the PS2 and OG X-box? Which then puts the Gamecube against the Jaguar and the OG Playstation? See where that logic puts you. In addition wouldn't that make the 360 and PS3 copying last gen technology with Kinect and Move? It's fine for you to hate Nintendo but it makes you a complete moron to hate logical thinking and commonly accepted fact...

What are the odds we get a Wii U release of GTA 5?

WreckEm711

The only people who know that are working at Rockstar.

that's the problem, I don't want to get my hopes up but I think if we don't get it, it will be a sign of a potential drying up of some key third party support.

I know this is kind of beating a dead horse around here but seeing all the threads regarding the ways that people would change the Wii U has me on the fence over buying one. The complaints about the operating system and battery life of the game pad have left me with doubts over whether I should buy now or wait to see what happens at E3. There are a few games that I would buy now (Blop2, NSMBU, Scribblenauts, maybe FIFA 13') but past that I want to know what's on tap for the rest of the year and hopefully E3 sheds some light on upcoming Nintendo and Third Party releases. I guess my worry lies in the possibility of a future hardware redesign in 2013 (highly unlikely) and the quality/quantity of games slated to come out in the next year. So the question is should I buy now, wait to see what comes of E3, or wait until holiday 2013 to see what the future of Wii U holds. In addition any thought's about the likelihood of GTA 5 coming to Wii U?

This post contains a lot of things that could be classified as "biased speculation" and at worst utterly unfounded in any form of fact or logical reasoning. The first part is non sensical in the fact that the Wii-U has already moved a decent number of units since launch even if the numbers are not what industry analyists expected. This will not be the last wii (excuse that pun) see of Nintendo in the console market if for nothing else the fact that they still have enough cash on reserve (google the numbers) to produce another console even if the Wii-U was never profitable. That in concert with the fact that the OG Wii made Nintendo quite a bit and 3DS sales chugging along well now, Nintendo will not be short on cash. Not to continue beating this dead horse but as soon as the Wii-U gets some good first party games (Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Animal Crossing, etc.) sales will pick up because Nintendo fans on the fence over buying one will likely make the purchase to play these games. Finally your ending bit about the future of Nintendo on iOS and Android is nonsensical because a) there will be another Nintendo console and b) Charging 9.99 for a Mario app would never cover the development costs of a game of that nature. Sure mobile games are getting some traction with casual experiences like Words with Friends or the new rage Duck or Llama (I'm not even making this sh*t up, there is an actual game many people play that involves one or the other of the two species to be flashed onto the screen and you have to quickly hit the button to denote which one it was). In essence iOS and Android are not real gaming platforms, find me a person that can play any iOS or Android game for over 30 hours total or even put more than 2 consecutive hours into and I'll show someone who is under 8 years old or legally brain dead...

Well in response to Shadow Moses complete and udder idiocy I'll wager this point. The beauty of capitalism is that is allows consumers to vote for a superior product with their wallets. I'm not going to bother to get the numbers online because the sales gap is wide enough that the data ceases to matter. If the ps3 was "superior" then why has it not sold more? It seems strange that such a great machine isn't in every household if its that good. The ps3 is the equivalent to buy generic brand goods: you have almost the same product but it's still lower quality. And just to finish this with a personal attack, how is dawnguard? I heard the ps3 version was superior and had better graphics. There's a plain and simple reason more people own the 360: it's a better experience. Once you get over the immense butthurt you must be feeling and realize you spent $250 on a slim black piece of **** you be able to be classified as something other than a total waste of space on this forum and this earth...
