If you just want to download games and DLC but not play online, then Microsoft doesn't charge you a monthly fee.

I see, thanks for the replies; I must have misunderstood the function of x-box live.

want to connect the updated X-box 360 (the one with wireless connection) to the internet just to download DLCs? In my older x-box I never downloaded DLCS since I didn't want to have to pay monthly fees. Did this updated version remove those fees (like other consoles) or is it still the same?I'm asking since I'm considering buying another X-box 360

who hasn't had to buy a new xbox? why cant they just make one that works forever?

I know I thought that as technology advanced they'd build these machines to last longer not less. I keep hearing some people having to buy a new 360 after only 2-3 years. However, I still have my PS2 which I bought back in 2003 and it still works perfectly; I wonder why these new machines breakdown much quicker?

[QUOTE="El_Zo1212o"]That list doesn't give you the whole story- I've had issues with playing old xbox games on my 360- I bought 3 copies of Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction and each time the game would freeze up at the exact same point each time. Eventually I just caved and bought it for PS2 instead. Since then I haven't bought any xbox games for my 360.Djmaster214

That's what I wanted to know. I know the wesbite gives you the glitches but I wanted to know if they were big enough to not even bother with. It's too bad Microsoft didn't make their x-box games as compatible with their newest system like Sony did with PS2 games and PS3 system.

no they didnt, iv ownd 2 ps3s and they didnt play ps3 games

To my understanding the ps3 with the most GB is the one that allows you to play PS2 games.

So, I never bought the original x-box but I do have the X-box 360 and was wondering how much problems there would be with playing x-box games on the new x-box 360? After playing Dragon Age and Mass Effect I was recommened other bioware games such as Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire, but I hear that there can be issues as those game were not designed for the 360. What I want to know is if the issues are big enough to not even bother trying to play them or if their minor things that can be overlooked?

I admit the PSP doesn't have that many interesting games, though I have started playing it more often now that I have God of War: Chains of Olympus, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters. I agree with people on other threads though they should release the classic games from the PS1 for the PSP.
