i have this once in my wrist from gaming. its not fun i had to go cold for about a year before it finally got better. i now use an ergo keyboard rest and ergo mouse.

I've been considering getting an ergonomic keyboard and mouse. I've never used one before. Do you have a brand you'd recommend?

I'm 22 now but have had troubles with pain in my hands and wrists on and off since I was 17. I love gaming, but like many other things I enjoy gaming is painful for me. In the past I've had steroid injections under ultrasound into the tendons of my hands, due to them being overly inflamed. As well as different medications and wrist braces etc.

In a few weeks I have another doctors appointment since they have gotten bad again. I think I'll be tested for things like arthritis and carpal tunnel. It's really made me have to slow down on gaming, computer use, drawing etc.

Are there any other gamers here who suffer from a similar thing, and know any tips etc for those of us who's favourite hobby causes them great pain? Would any of you stop gaming altogether if a doctor told you you had to?

[QUOTE="piranha_inc"]Ok, does sophisticated mean an interface that'll take long time to shut down and turn back on, and if done "improperly" the system will take several minutes to turn on again then analyze the system and sometimes be caught in an infinite loop you can't get out unless you do some research. Yeah the xbox interface is not sophisticated, it just works. I own both consoles and I really find the PS3 Firmware to be simply hideous

Wait, long time to shut down and long time to turn on? My PS3 has never had that. It's always really fast to start up and turn off. Infinite loop? Are you sure it's a PS3 you have and you didn't get it confused with something else. It doesn't sound like a PS3.

Oh my grow up. Your frustration on this baffles me.Devil-Itachi
If you actually read my first post, I said "it's not a huge deal", that's my actual quote. It's just something small that bothers me and I came here to ask you all if there was a way I could turn it off. I'd say by this post that you are more frustrated by this thread, than I am by the avatars. It pays to actually read things all the way through.

This

Topic creator likes the broken system on the PS3, obviously good things bother him greatly

What's broken about the PS3? I've had mine for 4 years and it's never had any issues. It also doesn't treat me like a 4 year old whenever I log on and have some little kiddy cartoon waving at me.

I dislike the whole layout of the Dashboard, but since I don't usually have any use for it I just have my system automatically boot to the game in the disc tray.Canvas_Of_Flesh
Now there's an idea.

You're going to hate the PS4 dashboard then. It's almost completely similar to the X360 dashboard.experience_fade
I don't dislike the 360 dashboard. If you read up above I said that I like it. I like everything EXCEPT for the little cartoony avatars. If the PS4 dashboard is similar but with no cartoony people then I'll be happy.

Oh yeah, I'll look into that idea of skipping the dashboard.

When I first got the PS3 it only took me about 30 minutes of using it to get used to their dahsboard and layout. I found it really easy to navigate and quite nice to look at as well. It has a nice layout style I think.

I also think the 360 has a crisp, clean type layout that is nice, I just wish those damn little avatars weren't there making me feel like a 2 year old playing some sort of kiddy game.

I'm a long time PS3 user who recently got a 360 so I can play such titles as the Halo and Gears of War series. I am enjoying the 360 so far, but the whole childish feel to the interface is really bothering me. I sort of expected something sophisticated like the PS3. The 360 is a highly advanced peices of machinery that has a whole range of mature and adult games, yet every time I log on I have some child-like looking cartoonish avatar of myself waving at the screen.

The worst part is, I can't find a way to turn it off or hide it either. This is the type of thing I expect from Nintendo. And in fact the avatars do remind me a lot of the Nintendo Mii's. But with the type of games played in Nintendo consoles you expect little cartoony avatars like that.

It's not a huge deal, it's still a good console. It's just something that bothers me everytime I turn it on.

Is there a way of turning it off/hiding it that I haven't discovered yet?
