jg4xchamp-Regardless of what you think of The Elder Scrolls series, mllions of casual gamers bought Oblivion and consider it the best WRPG ever.As for boring as hell, you obviously haven't played the second Elder Scrolls game,Daggerfall.IMHO Daggerfall is the best game ever! You really do feel like you are in another world when you play Daggerfall!!

I noticed that the most popular installment of a huge franchise such as Final Fantasy seem to be strongly loathed by long time fans of the franchise who has been playing the game franchise prior to its most popular installment's release. Here are very BIG EXAMPLES I NOTICE:

1)The Elder Scrolls

The fourth installment,The Elder Scrolls 4:Oblivion,is the highest selling installment of this RPG series and is considered by many casual gamers to be the best WRPG ever. But long time fans who have been with this series since the first title,The Elder Scrolls Arena, considers this installment to be the worst in the whole franchise.Instead most long time Elder Scrolls fans agree that The Elder Scrolls 2:Daggerfall is the best in the series.

2)Fallout

Fallout 3 has been a mega hit, having sold over 4 millionand is now beloved by casual gamers. But fans who have played the first 2 Fallout games back in the 90s really hate Fallout 3 and calls it a disgrace to the Fallout franchise. They will say notthing but bad things about Fallout 3.

3)Resident Evil

Resident Evil 4 is the top selling installment in the RE franchise and is considered by critics to be the best in the series. But longtime RE fans strongly dislike this game and criticize it for taking out key features of the franchise.Long time RE fans often say this game is the worst in the series.

4)Final Fantasy

As you all now,Final Fantasy 7 sold over 7 million copies world wide and is considered by many people who were introduced to the franchise by this installment to be the best RPG ever. But long time Final Fantasy fans who have been with the FInal Fantasy since the SNES days hardly calls Final Fantasy even near one of the best in the franchise.Instead most longtime FF fans consider Final Fantasy 4 or Final Fantasy 6 hand down the best in the series.Long time FF fans will not hesitate at bashing this FF7 and will often post forums about how Final Fantasy 7 is overrated, how it sucks, how it is the worst in the franchise, and every other insults they could post about FF7.

Any of you noticed this too? That long time fans of a franchise tends to strongly dislike the most popular installment of the franchise and will do everything they can to bash and insult the most popular installment of their beloved franchise?

I for one care.Of all the LOST SOFTWARE of the Sega Saturn,Sonic Xtreme was definitely the saddest one lost.Man I remeber buying a Saturn because I was going to buy Sonic Xtreme. It Could have ben the game that SAVED THE SATURN or at least extend its life significantly longer.

Just for you info it is Sega of Japan's fault. This is why:

As you can see the guys at STI were really doing their best to try to make Sonic Xtreme as perfect in quality as possible but thos idiots at Sega of Japan canceled the game.I wish STI was allowed to continue to develop and eventually release Sonic Xtreme.

Vendetaa-contrary to popular belief it was not Stolar's fault why Beloved Saturn RPGs(Including my BELOVED SAKURA WARS) never made it to the USA.Here is why:
http://www.eidolons-inn.net/tiki-index.php?page=SegaBase+Saturn+p5&bl=y

As you can see it was Sega of Japan not Stolar why RPgs from Japan never made it to the US.

Also another major reason why RPGs from Japan did not make it to the Saturn was because the American publishers who were willing to release RPG titles such as Grandia in the US saw that they will not make profits on a console that was a flop.SImply they saw no point in releasing titles suchs as Albert Odyssey and Grandia in the US on Saturn because they won't sell enough.Sad but thats business.

And if Stolar was as anti RPG as people say,we technically SHOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN AMERICAN RELEASES of PANZER DRAGOON SAGA and Shining Force 3.

Besides much of the RPGs that we were begging for Sega to bring to America were released before Stolar became president of Sega of America.Sega of Japan could have RELEASED those games before Stolar came.

Also Saturn was all but dead in 1996 and a couple of excellent RPGs(MY DEAR SAKURA WARS) could not have saved the Sega Saturn.

In 1995 Sega decided to do the STUPIDEST mistake they ever did in history:THE SURPRISE SATURN LAUNCH.

The original plan was to release the Saturn in 1996.But hoping to get a head start on Sony,Sega decided to do a Surprise Saturn Launch.

This stupid action PISSED off so many retailers such as KB Toys that they refused to sell the Sega Saturn.Additionally it caught Sega fans off guard who were still saving money to buy this system. So many of us Sega fans were incredibly angry(including me) because we were trying to save money so we could afford the Saturn's expensive price($399) to buy the system by its initial launch in 1996.SEGA ALREADY LOST CUSTOMERS THE FIRST DAY DUE to making retails so angry they refused to carry it and by not allowing us Sega fans time to save money to buy the system.

When it was first launch, the Saturn had almost no games available. All the games that were available were at best mediocre(which included a not so good port of Virtua Fighter).Literally there was no reason to buy a Saturn if you were looking for good games.

Additionally developers were caught off guard and became so irritated with the surprise launch that alot of them(including big companies such as Namco) refused to develop games for the Saturn any where in the future(PRETTY MUCH Almost every developer abandoned the Saturn by 1996).

Sony took advantage of the Sega Surprise launch to cleverly make huge hype and brilliant marketing for the PS1.Despite being released a year earliermthe Saturn was easily getting outsold by the PS1.

MAN THIS MISTAKE made no hope for the Saturn to ever beat the playstation.

WTF!!!WHAT THE HELL WAS SEGA THINKING?WHY THE HELL DID THEY THINK Doing a Surprise launch would allow them to beat Sony?THIS IS SO **** STUPID!

Oh BTW the Saturn became a huge failure and this decision is probably the main reason why.The Saturn's failure cost Sega over 250 million $and it also led to companies that were once loyal to Sega such as EA to abandon Sega and chose Sony Playstation brand instead as main systems they will develop and/or publish on.The debt Sega has accumulated for the Saturn'd failure along with the Saturn turning off once loyal companies and fans and making them go for the playstation is one one of if not the main reason why the Dreamcast was a failure.

Any of you agree that Sega Saturn Surprise Launch stupidest gaming blunder in history?MAN SEGA IS MORONIC.

Alot of PC gamers here seem to think that all Japanese RPGs has Gameplay like Final Fantasy style or other RPGs with similar style of gameplay. But not all Japanese RPGs are the same!!!I even notice PC gamers refuse to try out Pokemon because its a JRPG and they think it will be the same thing as Final Fantasy!!! But Pokemone is far from having a Final Fantasy style gameplay! It has a completely different gameplay style! Unlike in Final Fantasy where you are set with a predetermined cast and you haveplay mostly by walking around and grinding Pokemon is completely different. In Pokemon gameplay deals with catching creature called Pokemon and training them. You do not have random encounters unless you go in areas infested with different Pokemons such as caves or grasses.Unlike in Final Fantasy the combat systems deal with you commanding a Pokemon in battle. You tell your pokemon battle commands and assist them with handy tools such as potion. Each Pokemon has its own set of strengths and weaknesses in battle. Pokemon's leveling and customization system is quite fun and unique. You raise you Pokemon mainly by continuosly sending them to battle. As your Pokemon raises in levels it learns new special moves and raises in stats. With most Pokemon in the game once you train them to reach a certain level they evolve into more powerful Pokemon with cool designs and awesome new powerful moves. In the game there are these items called TMs and HMs which you could use to make your Pokemon learn unique and very powerful or usefull moves that will aid you in battle or in catching more Pokemon. Not all Pokemon evolve by battle. For some of them you will have to give them special elemental stones or trade them with other gameboy players. The story is linear and deals with you trying to become the greatest Pokemon trainer in the world but you don't have to do the story campaign.Instead you could just go around beating various Pokemon trainers to make your pokemon stronger or go to various locations to capture all sorts of Pokemon for your Pokedex collection.Guess What? There are over 150 Pokemon to catch in the game!!! But you cannot get them all with your won copy. You have to go and trade some of them with other Gameboy owners to get Pokemon exclusive to other versions. Pokemon titles get released in different versions. For instance there is a Blue and Red version of Pokemon. Each title have Pokemon exclusive to them. You can only get these Pokemon by trading. Additionally you can only get evolved forms of some Pokemon by trading them. Also when you trade Pokemon the one you get in returns gets a bonus for bein a traded Pokemon. That Pokemon raises levels faster than a Pokemon normally would and can be more powerful than before it got traded!! And Pokemon has a very fun multiplayer mode where you battle other gmaeboy owners who own a copy of one of the Pokemon games. Pokemon is fun and unique. But PC gamers won't give it a try because they think its Final Fantasy style gameplay because its a JRPG!! Pokemon is different from Final Fantasy and is in fact one of the most entertaining and unique RPG series ever made!! Why do most PC gamer think all JRPGs are the same?? Pokemon is as fun and deep as many popular PC WRPGs such as Diablo,Baldur's Gate, and Neverwinter Nights!
