You know, I don't have anything to add to this topic because I chose to wait a few months before getting a PS4, but I have to chime in and say that people accusing every one of being trolls on a discussion board is even more annoying than the trolls themselves. In fact, I wish the term "troll" could be dis-invented.

You "accusers" need to get some perspective in life and just move on if you see a "troll post". Every other post seems to turn into the TC defending himself against being called a troll instead of defending his topic or opinion.

No, you're going to want to stop defending the topic creator right now.

This whole "OH THE PS4 IS FAULTY!" crap is nonsense and topics like this are useless.

Yes, the whole troll moniker for the creator should just be switched to buffoon. When the topic was made the reported failure rate meant that the PS4 was one of the most reliable pieces of technology ever made. All the topic creator wanted to do was cause problems.

Who said I was defending the TC? I'm actually trying to talk some sense into people accusing everyone of being a troll at every chance they get. Don't put words in my mouth. ;-)

I'm an advocate of making forums lighter and more enjoyable, and promote healthy discussions.

And I don't pick sides. I am my own side.

Stick with the PS3 for a while longer. The PS4 will still be around when you're ready, with a more interesting catalogue of games, and hopefully most of the system bugs will have been sorted out.

No need to give in to the pressure of getting it first.

I don't have the game yet, but I assume you can, since I think we could set 94 controls in the last few games. I could be mistaken. Someone who has the game should be able to answer that.

I feel so let down with the 94 anniversary mode, it's not even funny. With NHL.com pumping out cool retro NHL 94 videos including live replays using NHL 94 sound effects and sounds, you'd expect the same from this new retro game mode.

Nope. No 94 sound effects, weak soundtrack that doesn't sound anything like 94's. Plain and simple, I'm not getting a retro vibe at all from this.

Now if they had actually given us the actual NHL 94 game intact, but with today's teams and rosters, that would have blown me away. And it wouldn't have been hard at all to do, I bet. Maybe make it widescreen and smooth it out a tiny bit.

Oh well, I played 94 anniversary mode once in the demo, and immediately thought, "Well what was the point of this?" I don't see myself playing this mode more than once.

(Please note: I have not played the Sega version of 94, so I have no idea if that's how the soundtrack sounded on the Genesis. If it is, I take that part back.)

(Please note again, I still play NHL 94 on an emulator on my laptop when away on business, and still love it :P )

I knid of know what you mean. I just tried the demo tonight, and as you might know they only let you play one period. I played 3 of these periods and I had 4 fights as a result of a big hit.

After #3 I was like "Oh boy, this is gonna get old REAL fast.

Plus, I don't "feel" anything in the punches, it's like punching pillows. It doesn't feel like you're hitting someone in the face. Anyway, as far as the actual fights go, I can say it's an improvement over the previous games. But the number of fights is really annoying.

[QUOTE="SIN55"]

[QUOTE="ElectricNZ"]Sounds like you're just lazy...DanielDust

I think that's irrelevant, as playing games generally IS being lazy.

Well, I'm man enough to admit that my idea has been succesfully shot down. In theory it would be neat, but in reality it would be too crippling on performance.

Games are for fun and to realx, :| not all people play games because they are lazy, in fact almost none, when you are lazy, playing games is not fun, it's boring and lame, so as you said, it's irrelevant.

You are lazy, if you say that you want to play some games, but when you think that you have to install them you just find something else to do.

About the topic, older games maybe, but newer highly compressed, with lots of HD vids, sounds, gbs of textures, games, are no doubt useless if played directly from the disc, now why would Xbox want to install the games on the HDD? oh, yeah, I forgot, performance. It's sad, but soon you won't play games at all because even the consoles will soon have games that need to install on the HDD. Xbox already started with a few, it's up to sony now.

Jeez... no need to come off as rude there, pal. I'm not some 300 lbs teenager who games all day long and wears World of Warcraft t-shirts or anything.... I'm a casual gamer enquiring about ways to make PC gaming a little simpler and lighter for the PC. Anyway, I've already admitted defeat, no need to kick a dead horse.

You all make good points, but these are things I knew ever since games were installed from floppies...

I guess playing on the fly would only work on older games the PC could handle easier. When I look at my collection of PC games, and I feel like playing one I havent played in a while, I always tell myself "Bah, I'd have to install it and everything... too much trouble."

I don't mind slower load times, if it can save me the gigs and gigs of space on my HDD. Consoles aren't doing that bad in load times.
