Ya I know but its what they have well established throughout the years. It just doesnt work well from this point of view(who knows it may be the ing to get Sonic back on track). It does not fit with what has made Sonic. Im not talking about realism but what the reality of this character is.

Like I said, I never said this would ruin this upcoming sonic, if this game is not good its going to be the same reason that has plagued Sonic games for years, either they are not compelling anymore from 2d or they do 3d bad. If Sega can make both significant in this game then there is hope. Also, Maio=/=Sonic. Mario is the god of the gaming world and is virtually universal and pretty much can be aplied to any genre and accel at it. Sonic has limited confines as we are reminded whenever something wacky releases.

Cyber-

I know that Sonic isn't Mario. All I was saying is that, when it comes right down to it, the premise of Mario is quite possibly one of the dumbest and nonsensical things that anyone has ever come up with. But that's the beauty of video games: it doesn't necessarily have to make sense or fit in with anything to be fun.

I recognize that this new thing does not fit in what has previously been seen in the Sonic universe. But is that such a bad thing? Sticking to what we already have with Sonic has turned up dud after dud from Sega, so it seems to me that something completely new should be welcomed. Super Mario RPG for the SNES had entire reams of stuff added in that had never been present in a Mario game before, but they worked just fine.

Yes, crazy ideas sometimes are genious but they dont get there by themselves. Mario is so great because of how well the games are structured and the amazing execution that goes with them; the craziness is just icing on the giant cake. looking at it less conceptual, Mario trailblazed platforming with 2d and then even more so with 3d, being a plumber that kicks ass just comes with the package.

If you look at what Sega has tried with Sonic that was out of the ordinary boundries of normal(for the Sonic universe) its mostly failed not because it was weird but because things like the camera were way off or Sonic was too loosely controlled. Look at Sega Superstar Tennis, they tried doing what we are talking about there and it failed because its basic structure sucked and was a bad Tennis game.

Beyond that what mario goes into also is taken with care. Look he goes into Soccer and they really nicely splice him into that world. Mario translates well with whatever he is in from a style standpoint. He is more universal than Sonic and it just makes sense.

Still I am bashing this werewolf idea, but it could end up being great. But throwing him in arabian nights and turning him into werewolfs is not gonna save him and it does not please the Sega fanbase any more than previous mess ups in the series.

I liked Sega Superstars Tennis...

Guys, please. You're letting a simple idea get in the way. Mario can be any genre, yes. So why can't Sonic do the same? Seriously, it could be GOOD. Your bashing this idea that makes you look totally negative toward this game. Why do people always try to look at the negative stuff in Sonic and look at the positive stuff in Mario? Seriously.

What the heck, how does it make more sense with Link then Sonic?

Anyway, you guys are jumping to conclusions. If you guys keep doing that, you're not really giving this game this chance. Wait for some game footage of the wolf and watch it and THEN you can judge. You might actually like it.

And remember, TP did NOT originate the wolf idea. Did NOT.

Shadow is not in the game because this is a NINTENDO title. Ok? If it was a Sega title, we'd have Shadow in. Maybe in the next game, they'd add more Sonic characters. Not sure.

I'd really like to see Knuckles in a SSB4 too. His fighting style could be excellent. Shadow on the other hand would be very similar to Sonic. But not too similar you guys. He has alot of attacks different from Sonic Nintendo could input. But I'd rather have Knuckles in.

Sonic really seems to be doing great. Just because of two bad games, doesn't mean Sonic is automatically dieing.
