Yeah I don't pre-order games and will usually buy them on impulse when I think I'll have the time to play them..so all of these extra content for people who pre-order is annoying..thankfully (until now at least) the extras has been things that I could easily live without..but what's to stop them from actually restricting certain parts of the game or adding extra layers to those who pre-order? A very slippery slope if you ask me..

Oh..and don't forget AC 2..I guess it's a good thing that it takes me 3-6 months to play & finish a game..blame it on being a working professional with a 2.5 year old..:) So the timing works out great for me..

No because it's a TV show, so inherently make belief. Now if it was a documentary, then that's a different story. But I don't get moved very easily..so can't say anything has done that yet..

Started when I was 13 around 1991. Test Drive was the first timesink for me. Can't even tell you how many hours I spent on that game. :) From there to the awesome Sierra adventure games, KQ, PQ, and then to the Star Wars X-Wing, Tie Fighter (Wing Commander in there too)..I didn't get into console gaming till about 4 or so years ago when I got sick of upgrading my PC to play the latest game..

[QUOTE="ShadySpecimen"]

all this being said, I'm really, realllly excited for dragon age coming up, and that's a bioware game. the setting sounds more interesting to me, but we'll see if my beef with this is because of me maybe not liking bioware or if it was just mass effect.

The difference between us here is that I'm SO bored with fantasy RPG stuff. It's why I can't get into MMO's like WoW and things because I'm tired of swords and axes and magical spells. Space is a new frontier that's starting to be mined more and more in RPGs and I thought Mass Effect created a good space story that had a feel of freshness to it (don't get me wrong, I love Star Wars but it wasn't that and that was fresh) and had combat that seemed like it was futuristic and in space.

I'm with ya there. Totally not interested in Dragon Age, really looking forward to ME2 and AC2 to hold me over until ME2 comes out next year..:)

You're probably right, since I look at Fallout to be similar to ME with light RPG and shooter aspects. So if you like Fallout, you should in theory also like ME. But I've enjoyed all of Bioware's creation from KOTOR, Jade Empire, ME, so maybe I'm just partial..;)

Mass Effect is a great blend of light RPG and shooter mechanics. However, true RPG fans will be disappointed in the RPG aspects and true shooter fans will be disappointed in the shooter aspects. The story is very interesting, as are the characters. The first time I played the game, I ended up rushing through the main story line, but on the second playthrough, I decided to explore every little piece of the world and it's a lot more fun. Do spend the time interacting with all the characters and visiting all of the various worlds. Some of the combat/off-world stuff is a little repetitive but it's a good break from the main story.. Having said that, it's entirely possible ME is just not for you. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to play Oblivion and not make it past 15-20 minutes. I tried the PC version a long time ago and hated it and for SOME reason thought it'd be better on the console and it's just as bad for me.. Regards

I've been using Corsair memory for a long time with all the machines I build and have had good luck with them. I can't recommend for more than that reason alone. OCZ is also a reputable company, so it might come down to what you've used in the past and go with that. Does your BIOS even support 8GB of memory? Most OS' handle up to 4GB OK, but not sure about anything beyond that..

Fable 2 is not an XBL arcade game..Fable and The Lost Chapter are probably avialable as "XBOX Originals" but I don't believe any of the Fable games were Arcade games..
