I am also sad to the Psygnosis hit the dirt, but keeping a studio open just for nostalgic reasons I something that no studio / publisher with some sense would do. So, I understand the move. And I loved Psygnosis' games !

I agree. I always found the "suspense" and set-up part of horror films to be the most interesting. The end is usually an overblown finale that just adds more and more layer of nonsense to the mix without being scary at all

Last film I watched was Ghost Shark about the spirit of a dead ghost that haunts a fishing village, flying around eating people. Pretty rad I dare say.

Well, everything must be better than Duke Nukem Forever surely, no matter who weird the genre choice may be. Also, it might turn out to be like Fallout 3 or Borderlands both of which have RPG elements but are a blast to play, so there you go, it could be all good

I think they are way too quick in producing these MashUps, before actually establishing someone as the core actor for a superhero. Now that everyone accepted Bale as the caped crusader, he is gone from the block. And nobody would shout "Cavill" when prompted about Superman (Yet!). Same goes for the X-Men series. The old gang got like a shitload of films and the First Class only one and there is already a mash-up happening. Kudos to the Marvel Avengers crew for actually esablishing their heroes in various films beforehand.

Okay fellas, time for some thread necromancy:

Let's continue our list with games we played in 1997:

Here is what I played:

Age of Empires (did not really like it that much, although I bought it the day it came out)
The Curse of Monkey Island (Still of of my favourite games, I even have a Murray in my room)
Myth: The Fallen Lords (Got this for Christmas, never got into it)
Star Wars Jedi Knight II (Oh yeah)
Blade Runner (Great adventure game, great graphics and soundtrack, never managed to solve it)
Dungeon Keeper
Carmageddon
Blood (Post Duke3D FPS fandom, this was one of the best)
Sid Meier's Gettysurg (Used to be a Civil war buff, never played this a lot)
Magic: The Gathering (Used to be a big fan of the game when it was still young and fresh)
Wing Commander: Prophecy (Bought this because of the hype, no good)
Outlaws
Worms 2
Incubation (I had been looking for a good sqaud based game like XCOM, this was not it)
Redneck Rampage
Interstate 76
Lords of Magic
Theme Hospital
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (Really enjoyed this one)
Diablo Hellfire (meh expansion)
Ultima Online
Creatures
Turok for N64

:-)

I think the issue is sexual violence, which includes rape for example and that is a border not crossed by videogames and if anything, the games just allude to rape (like Dead Island). I think that is fair enough, I don't have to experience rape and sexual violence in order to enjoy them, I am not a big fan of gore and brutality anyway. In general, I am curious why people would want to have rape in their games unless they are keen to experience it on a virtual level, on the other hand, the same goes for wargames. It might not make a lot of sense but I am glad that games draw the line right there, I would not play games where you could rape people or torture them.

In Carmageddon (anyone remember that) I never raced the track but just tried to kill all the other cars and end the race this way !
