Well a big reason for a lack of exclusives is Microsoft's ability to throw tons of $$'s in front of developers to open their horizons. This is becoming more and more habitual for Microsoft, securing exclusive content for GTA IV and the like.

It seems to be a regular disappointment all around. Not to deviate from the PS3 discussion, but the Wii's Virtual Console suffers the same fate. Both systems are releasing games, but not the games that could score them big $'s all over again. I think they hit a great mark with re-releasing Castlevania:SOTN, in my opinion that is one of the greatest games of all time, but all the other games are pretty much misses. I don't hear an awful lot of people saying how glad they are that Spyro the Dragon was re-released, or people calling in sick from work because they were up all night playing Destruction Derby. Come on Sony, lets do something big.

I never played a Call of Duty game until Modern Warfare was released. I absolutely loved it. It got things right on so many levels with the FPS genre, especially the multiplayer. If COD5 is going back to WWII I think they are making a big mistake that they will end up regretting.

Actually, the one thing that doesn't really make sense to me in that game is Shotguns. There's no need to aim whatsoever. As long as a person is close enough in front of you and you fire like mad, you'll drop em fast. Certain maps it's not an issue, but I hate it when I'm in close quarters, come around a corner and die, only to watch the replay and find that the person just fired their shotgun as fast as they could as soon as they seen a body.

I didn't finish the single player of COD4 but the multiplayer is certainly top-notch stuff. I've never been so entralled in a first person shooter before. Warhawk is a great game, but COD4 is much better in my opinion. I had a lot of fun playing Warhawk, they are two totally different breeds when it comes to online multiplayer. Warhawk maps are a much larger scale because you can take to the skies and it offers a whole new element in that respect. Also, with 16 vs 16 team matches, you lose that sense of "oh my god, the whole team is relying on me not dying" and you just have fun. What I think COD4 brings to the table is a good sense of pick up and play value that a lot of other online games lack. The fact that a few well placed shots will take anyone down makes it easy for new people to try out, as opposed to the games where its all run n' gun and jump around like idiots. I haven't played Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 yet but I know the first game was a little extreme. Basically anytime your head popped up from cover, you were dead. I had the hardest time with that game and it just wasn't fun. Game makers need to learn from COD4 and go with that. Aside from the gameplay mechanics, the leveling system was perfect. I can't express enough how much I enjoyed COD4.

Anything not initially known about a game can be a spoiler.

The first videogame was a simple dot that was maneuvered across a screen with the use of a joystick. It wasn't a game really, more like a really old tech demo. Incidentally it evolved into Pong.

Ratchet and Clank is one of the top rated exclusive games for PS3. Despite the cartoony like graphics, which are still great, it's a great game.Personally I thought Resistance was a joke and if you like FPS and multiplayer get Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. In my opinion it's ahead of Unreal 3 which is a jump and shoot like crazy game whereas is COD4 you can actually use stealth to an advantage...its a matter of preference of course. Also COD4 has an experience system that rewards your time spent playing with new weapons and perks, whereas Unreal only offers leaderboards.

Warhawk and Call of Duty 4 are great online games in their own right. Call of Duty 4 has a great rewarding system and Warhawks online wars make up for the graphics that are below average. Rainbow Six Vegas is good, but I found it to be quite hard. Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights has fun online streetracing if you're into that. You can bet money against other players and even go for pinks and take someone's ride. Unreal Tournament 3 will undoubtably be an insane must have first person shooter. Resistance Fall of Man was ok, but it didn't interest me too long. The Darkness has a decent online mode where you can change between a person using a gun and a shadow demon. The two you have in mind, COD4 and Warhawk are great fun though and your best bet.

Well I would hope you've already played Dragon Quest VIII for PS2, if not then get it. Graphically its on its own art style, not like FF, but its not bad. The story is just as good though, maybe slightly more on a comedy than a drama, but overall gameplay is superb. Valkyrie Profile is another game to look into, deep story, good action, good graphics. Either of those are good choices. There are more, but my brain hurts...
