your first mistake is to get upset at something somebody on reddit said. Your second mistake is to post your response to make yourself feel better but instead of posting it on reddit you posted it for the whole world to see on the gamespot front page. only a small fraction of gamers use reddit and most of us think it's a place where troublemakers thrive. I mean, you could have posted forchan gifs on the front page - maybe you can still do that in the future. Or maybe just post your responses to what made you upset on the website you got upset on. also people on reddit are troublemakers foremost and gamers second or third or more. Lashing out at gamers because of what somebody on reddit said? No good... keep what happens on reddit in reddit kthanks. .

Make a game with just combat and it will sell possibly millions of copies. Make a game with no combat and just story...well, bottom line is it won't sell. I think what upset the *horrible gamers* is when the grey area happens; when big game titles start including a no-combat option. Now who is the one feeling entitled? The mass majority of gamers that the game developers are creating games for or a few people that want to skip the combat? I think the small minority that wants to force the games made for the overwhelming majority to cater to them; yes, this minority is feeling "entitled" as is easily seen. I don't agree with Reddit, in fact I really don't like Reddit. Vigilantes run the place with stories intended to cause as much drama as possible. Still, the smart ones ignore Reddit. Am I saying every game must include combat? No! I am all for making games that include skipping combat. However, don't force the large majority to accept skipping combat in large games made for them. In gamer experience combat is what makes people skilled at the game. It's gamer cred as you all should know at Gamespot. Don't get me wrong! I am all for skipping combat, just not in big titles made for serious gamers. Also, I am not talking about games like Neverwinter nights or Dragon age origins so I guess I agree with her on most of the games Bioware has been working on for the past decade. But imagine the year is 1998 and we are playing The Baldurs Gate series... Skip all the combat? The game combat was virtually a D&D clone! How can one enjoy D&D without combat? Consider SWTOR. It's Star Wars - sure I would enjoy a database of all the cutscenes to be available after I complete the player vs environment... but seriously? Star Wars with no dueling? Has any of the six Star Wars movies been watched and seen how much action is in them? So there are games that an idea of being able to skip the combat might be just fine (forinstance world of warcraft *oh my gosh if there was no combat the mmo would be "this long (literally)". So, yeah, games should have a no combat option for people that want to enjoy the story but that's what YouTube Walkthrough videos are for - and they manytimes have great commentary.
