Super Bowl XLII - Patriots vs. Giants

by on

Tonight is Super Bowl XLII, so why not make a blog about it? This is definately going to be the most history Super Bowl so far during my time as a football fan, as this year's New England Patriots are so far 18-0, and looking for an undefeated season. At the same time, the Giants have the chance here to do something historic as well, which would be ending the winning streak of the Pats.

The Patriots offense all season has just been unstoppable. Even in the games which were close like when they played the Eagles, the Ravens and the Giants in Week 17, they were all high scoring games. Tom Brady still finds Moss, or Welker for TDs. Laurence Maroney has also been playing quite well in the playoffs. On the other hand, the Giants are a team that has surprised me. I did not expect them to make it this far, but they have. Their defense this season has always been great, and if Eli Manning plays the way he did against Dallas and Green Bay, the Giants certainly have a chance.

In the end though, as much as I'd enjoy to see an upset here, I think the Patriots will win this game and complete their 19-0 season, as angry as that makes me. The score I'm predicting: Patriots 34, Giants 23.

Kanye West - Graduation

by on

Just got Kanye West's new album, Graduation today. Amazing album to say the very least. IMO, Kanye gives us a nice breath of fresh air in hip-hop with his music. Very creative stuff, you can tell he works real hard on making great music. My favorite songs are Stronger and Good Life.:D

Two Years on GameSpot

Today marks my second aniversary of joining GameSpot. I never really expected to be here this long, it surprises me that I'm still here and an active poster. It seems like just yesterday when I signed up...ahh. It's a cool website, I don't expect to be leaving anytime soon.

The "Death" of Mr. McMahon

by on

This has to be the most bizarre storyline I've seen since watching the WWE. I knew this whole "black cloud" thing was heading somewhere, but I did not expect it to end up with a Mr. McMahon death angle. I have no idea where there going with this, but whatever their doing with it, it sure has me intested in watching their programming for the next few weeks to see what the hell is up with this. I wonder how Vince is going to play "dead" for the next few weeks or however long this storyline goes on for.

The Amazin's are back!

Although tonight is the Mets' second game of 2007, it will be my first Mets game of '07, as unfortunately, WWE's WrestleMania 23 was Sunday night, and although my loyalty to WWE and my sports teams are equal, I had to pick WrestleMania, since it comes once a year.

The 2006 Mets meant a lot to me. I never got to cheer on a team that was so dominant as they were, which is why I'm very excited for this season. With the addition of Moises Alou and a lot of new faces on the pitching staff, the Mets look even better for 2007. Lets make 2007 our year!

Super Bowl XLI - Colts vs. Bears

Super Bowl XLI - Colts vs. Bears

Well tonight is the 41st Super Bowl, and it will be hosted in Miami, Florida. Rex Grossman and the Bears will go up against Peyton Manning and the Colts. This game will define Manning's legacy. This is his first and may be last chance to win a Super Bowl, and if he can't pull out a win, he'll go down with Dan Marino for legendary QB's that weren't able to win a Super Bowl ring. The Bears have also had an amazing season, they were my pick to win the NFC Championship pretty much all season. I think it will be a good Super Bowl.

One thing I'm getting sick of is the media go on and on about this Super Bowl having two black coaches. Yes that's nice and all, but it doesn't really matter. This game should be about the Bears vs. the Colts not the two head coaches race. I think that's just pathetic.

And finally, my pick will be the Colts. I am rooting for them since they're the AFC team, and I believe they will win for the same reason. The NFC just sucks, I say the Colts win by 10, but it will be a close game for the most part.

Laraza banned.

What a shame, Laraza was banned from GameSpot. I liked the guy, he sure knew his rap, and his favorites were Jay-Z and Nas just like mine. Didn't talk to him that much, but I liked his blog, I posted there a lot. The past few months everyone's been getting banned left and right from the OT forums. I feel he deserves a blog post announcing that he was banned. But the intrawebs must go on...

Who's going to the playoffs?

by on

Who's going to the playoffs, just a year after having a 4-12 season? My New York Jets, who finished the season 10-6 today. What a season it's been, especially our coach Eric Man-genius, who led us to a playoff birth in his first year as a head coach(and the youngest in the league as well).

I also wish everyone a Happy New Year's, as we close 2006.:D

Top 10 WWE Superstars of 2006

by on

1. John Cena(Raw)
Yeah, Cena isn't the greatest wrestler in the world, but he proved to be something special in the year 2006. Capturing his second WWE Championship from Edge at the Royal Rumble in January, Cena went on to an intense feud with the self-proclaimed, King of Kings, Triple H. The two had a classic battle in the main event WrestleMania 22 in Chicago on April 2nd, and Cena came out on top making The Game tap out to his signature submission, the STFU. All summer Cena feuded with the Rated R Superstar, Edge, who had stolen the WWE Championship from Cena on a July edition of Monday Night Raw. Cena and Edge had many match-ups, in which Edge continued to cheat his way out of the match, when Cena seemed within an arms reach of the Championship. Finally, Cena overcame all the odds in September, when he defeated Edge in his own TLC Match in his opponant's hometown of Toronto, Canada at Unforgiven. There is no doubt that John Cena, whether popular among the fans or not, is the most marketable and hardest working WWE Superstar of the year 2006.

2. Edge(Raw)
Edge shocked the world on January 8th at New Year's Revolution, when he cashed in his Money in the Bank check that he won nearly a year before at WrestleMania 21, to face John Cena for a WWE Championship match right after Cena had retained the title against five other men in an Elimination Chamber Match. After two spears Edge pinned Cena for the three and captured his first ever World Title. He had it for only three weeks, but however, he regained the gold in July on Monday Night Raw defeating WWE Champion Rob Van Dam and John Cena in a Triple Threat Match after nailing his arch rival, Cena over the head with the title belt. 2006 was the year Edge had proved he is a legitimate World Title contender and will be a main eventer in the WWE for time to come.

3. Rey Mysterio(SmackDown)
After winning the Royal Rumble in January, Rey Mysterio had lost his shot at a World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania after losing to Randy Orton at No Way Out. However, since Orton cheated to win that match, in an act of kindness, SmackDown GM, Theodore Long gave Rey Mysterio a 2nd chance, making the WrestleMania match a Triple Threat Match(World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio). Rey Mysterio defeated the two and was crowned the World Heavyweight Champion. The smallest World Champion in history went on to sucessfully defend the title against the likes of Kurt Angle and JBL until losing it to King Booker at the Great American Bash in July after close friend Chavo Guerrero cost him the title. Mysterio went on to have a heated feud with Chavo Guerrero following this.

4. Big Show(ECW)
Big Show surprisingly had jumped ship to ECW on the WWE vs. ECW Head to Head special back in June. One month later, in the birthplace of ECW, Paul Heyman had turned on Rob Van Dam and screwed him out of the ECW Championship, as Big Show won and became the new champ. Big Show went on to have arguably the best year in his career defending his ECW Championship against Superstars from Raw, SmackDown and ECW. He lost the title to Lashley in December, and then wrestled his last match against Lashley two days later, and went on to retirement from wrestling.

5. DX(Raw)
After months of teases hear and there, DX had reunited in June. They went on to feud with specifically Mr. McMahon and his son Shane, along with the Spirit Squad and the new team of Edge and Randy Orton, named Rated RKO.

6. King Booker(SmackDown)
Booker T lost to the Boogeyman in a complete squash, but less than four months later, found himself renamed King Booker and on top of the "SmackDown World" as the World Heavyweight Championship which he held until November until losing it to Batista.

7. Rob Van Dam(ECW)
RVD chased in his Money in the Bank contract to face John Cena for the WWE Champion at One Night Stand in New York City. He won the championship, but lost it to Edge a month later, along with his ECW Championship to Big Show.

8. Lashley(ECW)
Lashley stepped his game up in the year 2006, especially upon joining ECW in November. At December to Dismember, he won the ECW Championship and it looks like he will be the next Brock Lesnar for the WWE.

9. Mickie James(Raw)
2006 was the retirement year of WWE Diva legends, Trish Stratus and Lita, but it was also the year where Mickie James rose the occasion, winning the WWE Women's Championship twice.

10. Mr. Kennedy(SmackDown)
Kennedy returned from injury and came back better than ever, and more fearless than ever, challenging the likes of Batista and the Undertaker. He went on to have a heated feud with Undertaker, but ended up losing in a Last Ride match at Armageddon earlier this month. However, Kennedy proved in the year 2006 that he will one day be a player for the WWE, and in the title picture.

Merry Christmas to all...

by on
Yup...tomorrow is Christmas. Doesn't feel like it though...I guess cause it feels more like September outside rather than December(damn Global Warming!). Yeah, so if anyone actually reads my blog, Merry Christmas to you...or just Happy Holidays if you don't celebrate Christmas.

It was 10 years ago tomorrow where I recieved the good old N64 for Christmas. I was only 6 at the time, but man that was an awesome system. It was 5 years ago tomorrow where I recieved a Gamecube for Christmas. That Nintendo trend will end this year as I'm 16 and I have no interest in the Wii. Hopefully I'll end up getting a PS3 tomorrow(I wish)...but on any note, Merry Christmas to you. Hope you have a great holiday tomorrow.:D
