This game is too addicting if you're into card games. It's hard to imagine that it's almost always #3 on Twitch with 50,000 viewers at a time.

RPGs have always been my favorite genre (2004 Gamespot account); this game is pretty much as good as it gets when it comes to being old school.

@-Unreal- Though if someone is willing to pay monthly as is, then they're already most likely paying the $15 fee at the moment. Lowering the price won't magically make everyone love payment models all of the sudden. Making the box tied to the account will help make it more costly to cheat as there will be an initial investment if they ever plan to go without a monthly fee. If they don't want to go that route, then they'd just be losing money by lowering the monthly fee (or making the same amount for the light amount of people that would come back for just a couple bucks of). Perhaps when it gets so old -- and a new successor is launched or takes up that mantel -- would it benefit from lowering the price to entice people to pay for both. :3

@Albaficas This is the most profitable video game in history; you could pretty much put all games in the past decade on the same chart and WoW will still have a higher profit margin (obviously exaggerated, but at the same time it's true if you add in a couple exceptions). They'll always be chasing that cookie, and even if it dropped to 500,000 players they'd still be making significant profit (especially with their new merging technology with cross realms and connected realms).

Honestly, that's all we need to know as to why they will keep on making more and more for it. While this expansion looks amazing after listening to the panel, it still has a lot of development time left to say it's good or bad. Though I think the one thing many agree on is that a Warcraft IV is long overdue. WoW is at a steady 7.6 million at the moment with a minor loss last call in. So it will likely go down a bit more before having that expansion boost for a few months. Then inevitable go back to declining until the next expansion.

While I'm mainly a PC gamer, the PS4 will likely be my go to console for when my internet is down or if I just want to play a good RPG. This was an important quality for me that an authentication service didn't provide with the Xbox one. Even the slightest chance both would be unavailable at any time is not worth $500 when a better alternative is available.

Also as a PC gamer, I can appreciate the tech choices of PS4 as DDR5 is nothing to sneeze at.

As Ifrit said, the new tour video released a week or so ago shows much improvement in that area. Though the PS3 is working 8 year old technology, so it's natural the PC will have far better graphics.

@Sporks_Calamity

Yes, it will have a monthly fee for both PC and the PS3. The same was true with FFXI and the PS2/360 back when they were released for those systems.

It's $12.95/mo for one character (per server) or $14.95/mo for eight (per server); the normal discounts apply if you buy 3 and 6 months at once as opposed to monthly. You really only need one as each character will be able to master every class/job/craft in the game. Though I personally plan to make multiple characters for extra storage and the like.

MMOs in general tend to save people a lot of money as they usually play one that they like exclusively as opposed to buying a new $60 game a week. But there are logical assertions for and against such a system. As a whole I'll try and support the game myself since it was probably costly to remake a game in it's entirety (engine and all). :)

@PrimeLazarus @RPGOmen

Not sure of the relevance of this comment to the matter at hand (even if it was a general response to those who believe what I wrote). It addresses nothing that was said nor has any logical assertions other than trying to agitate or troll a poster. If you're one for trying to make witty comments as opposed to making a valuable contribution or add to the discussion, then more power to you. Flame bait is something I consider rather juvenile, but I wholly support you in your endeavors if that's your thing. Maybe a few people will like your comment, as drama brings friction and friction fans. It's not the greatest thing, but sometimes it's just business, and it's also -one- reason why LoL consistently (and in my opinion unfortunately) beats out SC2 on Twitch in terms of viewers. Competition and looking for fights brings the fans, having favorite players and teams the same. A lot of people, for instance just go to hockey games hoping there will be a fight. Don't take logic or reasoning as my acceptance, as I very clearly made it apparent that it's bad behavior and unfortunate that these things are so popular. But my disagreement does not make it untrue, neither does it make me immune to certain allures of it in itself. Have a good one, and I'll make sure to look up that show you mentioned.

Idra is probably the only SCII player that had any real personality. Not sure if it's suitable for any sport, but people love to hate the "bad boy" of something. In fact, the only reason I even know of EG is because of Idra; to me he was pretty much the face of the team. As sad as it is, I'll probably stop following EG in general because of this. Sad because that pretty much affirms that bad manners are needed in a community that strives to make gaming a sport of "good manners" when it really isn't that at it's core. It's about entertainment and bragging rights; people with attitudes and showing how "leet" they are. This is why we see people saying "games are too easy" and then bragging if they accomplish feats or aiming to get that last achievement to display on their otherwise meaningless gamer score. Truly, something had to happen other than him just being a player with bad manners, as they signed him on knowing full well of his prior reputation. At the same time, I'm instantly disinterested from watching anymore Starcraft games if the community just wants to act almost as immature as Idra himself in seeking to eliminate people who "don't fit the robotic mold" of how they think things should be. I know I don't invite my friends over, who are rooting for the opposite team, just to give them a hug and say "GG MAN..." No, we rub it in each others face and have a good time at it when it comes to anything competitive.

Sigh...

I'm just looking for a game to play whenever the internet is down or I'm on a research trip.
