In My Life I Loved Them All

by on

Oh hey guys! I just noticed I haven't gone here for quite a while . Well the main reason was because of high school and I was pulling all nighters for finals and such to pass and get my cap and gown. Today was my last day and tomorrow is the graduation ceremony and my parents are happy and what not. Today was pretty mellow, I had to say goodbye to bunch of really close friends that were almost like siblings to me. The majority are moving away for school. I'm staying here cause I have a lot of family stuff to take care of. But looking back at my four years in high school, I don't regret too much. When I was a freshmen I was already a regular OT poster and had fun in real life and here in OT. Looking back at my posting history gave me good laughs and realized how much I changed in little then four years. Looking back at yearbooks and pictures and my circle of friends also made me aware of the constant changes I made.

I don't regret my first girlfriend, I don't regret posting here and wasting time here, I don't regret the friends I lost, it happened and it's drag so what? I have to move on, I'll obviously learn from my mistakes. I'll keep in touch with the friends I've been mostly close with. That's one advantage to this generation. The ability for distant communication. That's why I love skype :D. Well hopefully things will go well for me and I wish my friends the best of luck and to anyone else graduating the best of luck to you. I'm gonna leave off with this suitable song

The Social Network Review

by on

I'm sure before clicking on my profile or new blog title you were probably on your Facebook account doing whatever the hell it is you use facebook for. And if you don't have a facebook well I'm sure people wanted you to get one. Personally I use to communicate with friends from my hometown for memories sake and at times useful. Let's face it the social websites changed the world period. Back then you knew someone by simply meeting them and having the phone exchange and what nots. Now it's that plus adding them on facebook. You probably meet new people through Facebook. We just can't avoid it. And this film is about the creator himself Mark Zuckerberg, so let's do this review.

The film follows Mark in Havard and how a simple incident by making a local version of Hot Or Not? helped inspire him to make what would become a household name today. The film pans back to two lawsuits he's facing while going to the early years of facebook. The overall film just amazed really. David Fincher (known for directing Fight Club) really directed another excellent film here. The writing is sharp and actors did a hell of a good job (Yes even Justin Timberlake). The film is more a dialogue driven film but because it's so well written it helps drive the plot. Although it is a bit obvious elements of fiction are being blended in with the facts you'd expect that from movies today. May I also add that the soundtrack to the film is very good, Trent Raznor did an awesome job. To me the film is another cl@ssic example of of fame being a jerk. Here we have Mark being all isolated because of his new found fame. He wanted to get famous to get rid of it but it got much worse. You can say it's modern day Citizen Kane (Yeah I said it) with the whole I got rich and famous but lost my friends thing. A must see. Overall 10/10

Naked Lunch Film Review

by on

If I could sum up this film in one sentence it would be this: Fear and loathing in Las Vegas..................on crack

I'm not calling it a rip-off, in fact I love this more then fear and loathing. It's a bizarre film with great effects and a crap load of metaphors, hell this entire film is a metaphor since it's not only based on the novel "Naked Lunch" but also on the author's life and his other works. So now on to the review:

The film is about a bug exterminator named William Lee, he finds out his wife is using his bug powder as heroin and he tries it and well........................it begins. He follows his hallucinations believing he's a secret agent being ordered by a hybrid of a bug/typewriter when he's "told" to go out of country to write a report. The addict is played by Peter Weller who you may know for his role as Robocop. He does an excellent job in this film mostly because I just love how he's calm 90% of the time especially when he hallucinates, I mean dude your freaking type writer is TALKING TO YOU!!! I think you would have a problem.I can't explain why I like it. It's probably the hardest review I've ever written in my life. I mean I like the bizarre story I also like the music. The characters are memorable and such. The effects for when he hallucinates are well done and creepy as hell. The fact that he gets in a crap load of trouble because of his duty as an "agent" and ends up in a foreign country and later on writes a story during his hign-ness and not ends up not realizing it is just pure genius. I guess I love it because of how much I get it even though I don't get it. You just have to see it for yourself, I recomend it alot. Overalll 8.5/10

Avatar, John Mayer and PS3 Oh My!

by on

First of all I just started christmas break and hope to catch up with my lost addiction: OT . Second of all I should get in the habit of blogging more . Third of all why am I starting my sentences like this? Yeah well I just got tickets to a john mayer concert. He's gonna perform at sunrise, Florida which is like an hour from where I live, it's gonna start on February 4 so I'll probably skip two days of school :P. Also I purchased a ps3 on black friday which came with a free game: Uncharted Drake's Fortune. Also I recently saw Avatar which I thought was visual masterpiece but overall an average enjoyable film. Film of the year? Maybe. Overall an 8/10. That's all I have to say.

Can't wait for the new John Mayer album tomorrow.

Why? Why? Tell them that it's MJ's money (This Is It review)

by on

The blog title sounds harsh doesn't it? Well I was just posting what everyone thought of this film when it was announced. Although I said to myself "Well I'm not seeing this" when it was announced, I found myself with a weekend with nothing to do and already seen Zombieland I was thinking "Aw hell I might as well make His kid's a little richer". On March 5, 2009 during a press conference Michael Jackson announced that he would perform 50 concerts as his "curtain call" on July of this year. So for the while Michael was rehearsing for his comeback and filming for himself, but on June 25 2009 Michael Joesph Jackson "The King Of Pop" passed away...........and all media hell broke loose. We were all shocked that one of the most loved (and hated) musician had died. So what did AEG Live the company behind the would-have-been concert do? Well they quickly made a movie about the rehearsals knowing they'll make big bucks that's what :D. Many people protested the film and such but now that it's here let's see if this was a quick cash attempt or fitting tribute goodbye for the man once known as the king of pop:

The film starts with a credit that explaining the concert and such and opening with "For the fans". We start off with the interviews of MJ's back-up dancers for this would-have-been concert. You could instantly see the impact he had on these young dancers who literally grew up listening to him and how it meant the whole just dance with Michael. We then see the footage of Michael announcing the concerts.............then we see him perform. The film does a good job of showing MJ dancing his butt off while wisely showing the whole behind the scenes part. They did feel to drag for instantly we go back to out Moonwalker. The concert screen video they film for songs like thriller and smooth criminal are pretty well done but Thriller is kind of ridiculous to look at since the footage was meant to be in 3D. As for the performers they were almost the top of the line, remember this was the rehearsal not the actual concert. As for MJ himself, he still danced like it was too easy and like he was young. He had so much energy and so did not look like 50, although at times he does not sing a verse or two since he wants to save his voice for the concert MJ still had the beautiful voice we knew he had especially when he performs Human Nature. At times (I can't believe I'm gonna say it) MJ acts like a bit of a....................um how can I say this?......................jerk?*Takes Cover*. Yes I said it, this is during practice where he wants more out of the keyboard players and guitarist and dancers and always says "That's why we rehearse people, with love , l-o-v-e". Honestly if i was any of them I would have been annoyed as hell. But of course he was well known as being a perfectionist so I can understand this behavior. But we also see MJ act in his natural environment, something he was raised on since he was young and you could see how close he was to everyone in the concert. They're almost like a family giving a bitter-sweet feeling to the movie, in fact the whole movie was bitter-sweet whenever a conversation about "Oh I can't wait to perform for the concert" since we know that never got to happen. So did the film properly give tribute to Jackson? Of course it did! They were able this off with a few problems here and there(Like quality of some of the footages). Also it feels weird that they did this since MJ did not intend this to be released to the public :?. But overall it was great film and it was very enjoyable. Hardcore MJ fans will enjoy this while average joe's might dislike it just because of the whole media frenzy of MJ when he passed away and they probably don't think about MJ. I give it an 8/10.
