I'd say you are wrong about therapy, and that you won't know unless you try it.

Generally when I'm feeling down I go do something that is in some way constructive. It doesn't necessarily need to be something very meaningful, but at the end of the day it needs to be something that you can see your work at the end of. For instance I have been creating "invisible bookshelves" this year. At the end of each part of the project I have cleared up shelf space on my normal bookcase that I use for excess dvds, which in turn allows me to get rid of the box that those were in, and my apartment looks both neater as well as cleaner. It also gives me a feeling of being artistic to boot.

So yeah my suggestion is to find some project, regardless of how small it feels, and go do that. See how it makes you feel at the end of it.

I do take on small graphic design projects when I'm bored. I am really into music, but I sold my guitar and piano in order to pay rent. I miss my piano so much. I used to doodle on it all the time.

the human body is made for moving, so you need some exercise. Go outside now and then. Don't worry about resources or purpose, there's enough of them for everyone.

I have been going on walks recently (even more so with Pokemon GO), and it does help! It's just that I feel like I always need to be doing something or I feel like a waste of space. I go to school, but I am so unmotivated and sad that I don't do well even though I am more than capable. I've failed multiple classes and that just makes me feel absolutely terrible when I see my grades. I had a 4.2 in high school and now I'm at like a 2.8 in college..

Thanks for all the replies, guys. I've been reading through them all and I really appreciate the feedback.

Hmm I think most people get some form of depression at some point. I've been depressed for a couple years. I still ate, I still slept during those years. So it wasn't as bad as some people have it. Who literally can't eat anymore or something like that.

But something that helps for a lot of people with depression is the little triangle of act, think, feel. Have you heard of it? It's the way human minds and bodies are connected. When something is wrong with what you do you need to think. When something is wrong with your thinking you need to feel. When something is wrong with your feeling you need to act.

So depression can lead to a lot of negative thoughts but the easiest cure (that I know of, but it didn't work for me at the time because I couldn't get myself to do anything) is not to think, but to act. So you will have to accept this from people with experience, and not try to understand it or to rationalize it. All you need to do to give this a try is to stop thinking about your feelings and to start doing things. Any things. So walk outside. Walk inside a shop. Go midgetgolfing. Make tea. Draw stuff. Excersise. Anything you can think of even if it seems completely useless and pointless. It doesn't need to be fun. You won't feel like doing it at all. And that is fine. Do it anyway. Just stay busy doing stuff.

So: Accept it's something that is fucking with your mind so your mind isn't working properly right now. Stop your thoughts. Don't listen to yourself. Decisively be an idiot for a while. Keep doing things, every minute of the day. That is my advise. It's the most effective 'cure' that I know of.

I do distract myself from my negative thoughts by hanging out with friends and trying to be social, but whenever I am alone (mostly when I'm laying in bed before sleeping), I get very depressed. It's like this almost every night. I really want a warm body to sleep next to and someone to exchange thoughts with before I sleep. I need some way to empty my mind. I feel that having a significant other is the only way to do that.

I feel terrible. I feel like I'm just wasting resources by being alive. I'm taking up space on this planet and I'm not contributing anything meaningful.

I feel like I have no purpose. I don't like sleeping in my bed. I can't sleep. I stare at the blank walls and I think too much.

It hurts too much. The sadness. I feel it in my arms and chest and it just hurts to exist. I can't take it anymore. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut.

I'm sure there are some of you here who is dealing or has dealt with this. What can one do? I really don't think therapy can help. I have a few friends, but they can't be there for me all the time.

I don't understand why people are voting for another Clinton. She's an establishment politician. Almost nothing will change.

He also said that the PS3 was a "nightmare."

5:07

"Originally, we were very focused on creating the 'Sport' mode. That's why we named the new title 'Gran Turismo Sport, but looking back at it now, when you see the massive list of features that went into the game, we could've called it Gran Turismo 7. At this point, I think either name would work."

8:52

"The PS3, looking back on it now, was really a nightmare. Really. Seriously. It was very stressful, and at the same time, it didn't allow us to do a lot of the things we wanted to do. The PlayStation 4 has been really fun to develop GT Sport for. For myself and the team as well. Everyday, there's a small advancement and achievement that we make in development. It brings us joy. That kind of feeling is something that I haven't felt since Gran Turismo 1"

We heard it from the man himself. GT Sport is not another prologue. It's a full-fledged Gran Turismo game.

@foxhound_fox:

Meat and animal proteins in general have a much higher PRAL score (acidic environment potential) than any other digestible human food. When your body is in a more acidic state, calcium leeches off your bones to help balance pH. A plant based diet consists of foods that are alkaline and basic, which allows your body to sit comfortably in a balanced pH, which keeps your bones strong and cells can function and replicate with fewer errors.

PRAL Scores of various food groups:

Meat and Meat Products Average9.5
Vegetables Average-2.8
Fruits, Nuts, and Juices Average-3.1

Nothing worse than the methane release from the cattle industry.

That said, vegetarian diets are bad for the body. Heavily increase the risk of osteoporosis.

And people think it's just cow farts. It's not just cow farts. It's the fact that livestock don't have the benefit of treated waste like humans do. And there are more than 1.4 billion of them defecating every day. That is a TON of methane.

Also, osteoporosis has nothing to do with a vegetarian diet. I'm vegan and there are plenty of ways to get calcium, magnesium and vitamin D. There's kale, almond milk, soybeans, calcium-set tofu, broccoli, okra...

Yeah, and animal agriculture, which takes up nearly 30% of the Earth's land mass, isn't? One gallon of milk takes on average 683 gallons of water to produce. A 300g steak takes about 3,000 gallons of water to produce. There are too many humans on the planet and the systematic slaughter of animals is destroying our planet faster than all transportation combined.

I'm 24 and I'm in the same boat. Never had a girlfriend.

I've kissed and performed oral sex, but I discovered that I have a form of ED soooooo now I'm actually afraid to have sex when the time is right with the right person..
