I think TLOU can be polarizing because of two different perspectives. One would be if you merely break the game down into it's mechanical aspects, like the AI, 3rd person shooting gameplay, clicker sections, etc, then you can argue there are a ton of flaws. But on the other hand if you look at the game as whole and how it pulls off the scenarios in conjunction with each other, with all the mechanics working together, then the experience just feels bloody incredible.

And gamespot's credibility in reviewing games went down the drain over the years. It's not just one guy, but more like the entire quality standard of the editorial. This game is more like a 9.5 for me.

The DC is amazing. Is it not.

When it comes to graphics my friends, their word is the law. They have 100% respect in the world. No questions asked.

The sad thing is they have not heard of them?

Well not just in the context of system wars or anything, most of the graphics technology and techniques went through their circle at some point in the form of research papers and stuff. I've been to the past 2 siggraphs, and I'm certainly going to this one since I'm in vancouver.

On top of that, I don't plan on getting an xbox one anytime soon, but I have to admit Ryse getting the award is well deserved. Gameplay is probably lackluster, but the visual is certainly way up there.

It's $100 cheaper. I think most people who bash Xbox one are ignorant of Kinect and the experience of what Xbox one offers. Microsoft needs to drop the price though.

Most people don't care about Kinect, but even in the case if the Kinect does offer such an experience that's worth the value, shouldn't it be the duty of Microsoft to communicate that message? In which case they're certainly not doing either.

One thing I don't get is why are there more discussions on the resolution and anti-aliasing of the game than what the game is about? I want to know more about what the actual game is about.

Textures are made differently depending on what 3d models you're dealing with. Every game has textures in 256x256 as well as 1024x1024.

I would be more interested if there was more information about the whole game. I'm still interested in MGS5 and whatever Kojima cranks out, but there's nothing to hype over at the moment.

There is really nothing stopping Sony from making a Software Emulator for PS1 and PS2 games on the PS4 tech wise. It's a pure business decision.

PS3 emulation won't happen I'm afraid. Not any time soon at least.

I could live with no PS3 emulation on PS4 since I still have my PS3 and don't plan on selling it but I still own plenty of PS2 games that aren't compatible on my PS3 slim (most of them weren't made into HD remakes either). Would be fine with this news since I wouldn't have to hook up my PS2 anymore to play them.

But with PlayStation Now, I wonder if Sony would allow software emulation.

I recall a comment somewhere saying you need hardware exponentially more powerful than the system you want to emulate in order for it to work. PS4 is powerful, but the scaling up in hardware is nowhere near as higher as when the ps2 went up to the ps3 and so forth, so that's an issue.

It's a wonderful thing that sony is actually attempting to put emulation on the ps4. One could say all the potential for piracy and no moneyz or whatever regarding the nature of emulators, but the fact is there was some brilliant work done in that area which caused pcsx2 to be what it is today, smart move on sony's part to leverage that kind of knowledge.

It's a great deal for both ends. Epic wants to move onto creating new stuff, while Microsoft wants to continue milking old franchises. Everybody wins.
