@Hypocorism Except that's wrong, because "tyranny" is specifically used to reference the actions and character of a GOVERNMENT, which this is not. It's a private company who can do and say whatever they want on their own damn site! So, strike 2
@Hypocorism Freedom of speech? This is a privately owned website! No country in THE WORLD protects your "right" to spout off inanity here. Why don't you READ the laws you are trying to invoke before talking about them...."You keep using that word....I do not think it means what you think it means"
The problem with the internet comment box model is that all voices are given equal credence....even the idiotic, grammar-deficient, mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, misogynistic morons. If it took effort to be heard, half the trolls wouldn't bother
@ziproy True, but this is why municipal tax funding doesn't belong in a market economy. The nature of municipal funding does not allow for the long-term commitment required for a decent return on investment
@pycho22solid Yes, definitely worth picking up. While you will overpower the game world before long, the world is gorgeous and the character system allows for eery possible style variation.
Everything about this makes me sad. The game was *really good*, especially as a new IP- great storytelling, gorgeous game world, cool character development system, and the 2 DLC add-ons were great, too. Rolston, Salvatore and McFarlane? On the same project? It was like a late 80s/early 90s fantasy dream team!!!
But so little post-launch retail support? Hell, half the people I knew who bought it and liked it didn't even know about the existence of the DLC. Your local GameStop didn't give 2 shits about it, either, so they weren't pushing it. And who in the crap decided municipal tax funds made a great source of capital investment??? In the right hands, this could have been a winner and we'd all be gobbling up rumors about "KoA 2 teasers at E3!!!"
But when the investors (unwilling investors known as the people of Rhode Island) don't know the nature of the industry, the head of the corporation doesn't understand how to promote within the industry, and the publisher has bigger fish to fry during the crucial post-release period, no one won. So f'ing sad.
