Color should have been shit-brown.

Damn! Why can't I resist the need to post childish comments when it comes to XB1 articles?
Oh well, I guess I'm not alone... perhaps it's a disease?

In order to be as successful as LotR or Star Wars, you need to create a universe that spans thousands of years. You need a believable universe in which everything is connected and expandable with tons of lore. You also need a clear villain, something or someone the whole universe is afraid of.

But most important of all: you need that universe to be accessible and unchanged for everyone to enjoy, and that's why Destiny will fail in becoming as big as say Star Wars. Movies and books don't change once they are finished and can always be revisited by anyone, young and old. Granted, George Lucas did some slight revisions to his work, but the story and characters still remained the same for everyone to enjoy decades after its first release.

With MMO type games, the universe is always changing and people who come in late will never be able to experience the events that lead up to whatever is happening at that time. And worse yet, those type of games aren't here to stay with us forever like books and movies. Once the servers are taken down, it's bye bye history. It's because of those reasons MMO games will never be able to be as culturally significant as LotR, Harry Potter and Star Wars.

I'm not going to lie. I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get to see a single new AAA game, but only some Indie titles. Granted, some of those looked really good, but I was expecting a bit more.
The reveal of the actual release date was a nice bonus and a great way to end the show.

All in all, Sony did a respectable job here at Gamescom and I believe they strengthened their position in the upcoming console war.

I guess M$ doesn't understand what F2P means.
With F2P you should be able to unlock everything (or at least most) of the content by playing the game. Of course those that want to unlock everything from the start can pay a fee. Sure, you would be playing for many hours on end to unlock everything, but that's the way this system works. Otherwise the developers wouldn't earn a dime. But it's the CHOICE that's key with F2P.
What M$ is doing with KI is NOT F2P. They're giving us a demo, you HAVE to pay for everything else, there's no other way around it.

@Geardudu 8 characters would be a joke, there's bound to be more incoming, driving up the price significantly!

What? Now we have to pay for extra costumes as well? On top of the $5 price tag for each character? That's just plain ridiculous!
Sure you can buy them in packs, but let's say there will be a total of 16 characters in the game, which isn't a lot for fighting games, and each 8 character pack costs $40. That would mean the total package is $80.

Yeah, thanks but no thanks.
