Well sure...
...and a router would be over kill.

That post is the biggest load of nothing i've seen in a while, at least read Wikipedia first.
A router routes packets, a switch switches and hubs arn't used anymore.
The router obviously has a switch or a hub built in, there's no need to buy anything else; if you need away of connecting extra devices then you need a switch.
Thank you very much, the both of you.
kimbokasteniv - that's a very easy to follow, detailed description about all of that. I'm thinking a wireless router would be best. I thought a switch was only to connect one PC to another and had to go through the first PC's internet connection to connect, whereas a router would allow individual internet connections. You kind of lost me on the hub part and I am confused about your "reasons I won't disclose" part on the router. Not like it's a big secret or anything.

That's right, a switch connects devices together but to go to an external network you need to route the packets through either a PC or a router.
Hubs are useless. Seriously. Don't bother trying to find one anymore.
