In light of recent news, I feel like I kind of want to touch up on how I feel about the console war that is going on since Microsoft and Sony enveiled their new consoles this year. Due to many complaints, Microsoft has decided to completely 180 their console and get rid of DRM and the prevention of used games on Xbox One. To some people, this makes them support Xbox and makes them think that they are going back to old habbits. I believe on the contrary, Xbox One may have had some small changes, but there are still massive problems to go along with this travisty of a console.
First of all, we need to remember the price. $500 at launch? You could get a decent PC gaming desktop with that amount that would top the Xbox One in any shape or form. Secondly, we are still being forced into the Kinect. Some people would say "Hey, you don't have to use it." Yes, we do. The Kinect is mandatory and it is required for the system to work. Lastly, I am refusing to miss out on another exclusive like The Last Of Us. Sure, Microsoft has Halo and Gears of War, but honestly, I think we've all beaten Cheif and Marcus into the dirt for too long now. Fresh IPs are what is needed in the gaming market right now, but sadly, we'll rarely see them as long as games like Call of Duty and Madden are still on the market.
I just wanted to make this quick little rant to tell people that if you plan on getting a Xbox One, please take in the reasons provided and consider the PS4 or PC gaming. Don't let Microsoft scam you out of $50 for a year of gold again.
