meh. iuf you press the A botton on the top right corner, it pretty much changes into exactly how the previous gamespot looked. i dunno. i'm nor complaining yet. it's not like EVERYTHING changed and we're pretty used to navigating websites in all kinds of creepy and strange formats so i don't think there will be a problem with this one.
not to mention that, as a whole, games' quality has steadily dropped over the past 10 years, thanks to monopolization of the industry. companies like EA have destroyed many a franchise. i would not mind paying high prices for the games with high re-play value. look at Fallout 2. released in '98 i have replayed the game a dozen times, year after year, or Diablo 2, or Half-Life. those games were and still are rock solid. the golden age of gaming has probably gone on stand-by.
very well written article, especially the last crossfire/sli comparison with a link to the 5 tests they made. thinkin of buying the next generation of these, however they eat power like real monsters. i have radeon 9800 xt and pretty much it flies with farcry, HL2, fear, doom3 (which normally brings problems even to the top edge cards, at least a couple of months ago it did, even with 1gb memory)
