Higher resolution for a tv most people won't have. Since my tv is only 1080p, it's not like it's gonna go any higher.

Yeah, but that was not the point in question. We all knew that there wouldn't be any PS Pro exclusives, games tailored to the power of the new consoles. You would get higher reslution or faster frames (and perhaps some other visual enhancements). So yes, games designed for the PS4, pro or not, will look similar very very similar.

You said "Doesn't look like anything ps4 can't do already." Can the PS4 right now do 4K? No, it can't. This is being output in 4K. That's the difference.

Since when visual enhancements dont count as better version and we callint " look similar" to gently pat the differences ?

What I meant by this is that there won't be assets created from scratch solely for the PS4 pro. No Models with higher polycount or specifically designed textures. When Killered said he was underwhelmed by the looks of Andomeda on PS4 Pro my question is: what else did he expect? That's all.

Yeah, I wasn't very impressed either. Doesn't look like anything ps4 can't do already.

Except, you know... higher resolution.

So in a nutshell: Other games change and they now suck; Zelda changes - THANK YOU NINTENDO.

It's like people on the web only can complain. Had they kept the same style of game, the complaint would have been "Eh, just more of the same GoW, just with a new engine... again. Yawn. Big evil corporations and their repetitive sequels". So, they changed the formula and now we get this complaint...

10/10 for me. Yes, it leans heavily on TF2, but as others said it: it's an evolution. 21 wildly different "classes", not only in weapons but with unique skills and ults is quite crazy. Yes, there are only 3 game modes, but there is a great variety of maps and they are really well designed. But here's the most important part: The game is FUN. The first match I played, I made play of the game by blowing up four people with D.VA's ult and I instantly fell in love with Overwatch. All the time I was playing with friends, there was constant laughter about all the crazy shit that kept happening. It's such a brilliant game and a really great throwback to the fantastic online shooters of the past whilst adding lots of modern elements to it. Basically, Blizzard did what they always do, this time with team based online shooters. They don't re-invent the wheel, but they take the best of what's out there and improve / streamline it.

I really have no hard complaints about this game. No hero seems OP, there's a counter to everything and you can always switch your hero to adapt. And knowing when to switch things up is such an integral part of the game and can win matches.

I can't wait for the release! At least there is Uncharted 4 to bridge the time between the just closed beta and the final product. ;)

I played a few multiplayer matches with a friend, but it didn't click for us. What bugged me the most was the artstyle. Personally, I don't dig it, none of the characters look appealing to me and the uneven proportions just seem too forced to me. But beyond the artstyle not matching my taste, it even plays in negatively in terms of gameplay. When everything on the screen is super bright, edgy and colorful, nothing stands out anymore. I often had difficulties telling apart minions from enemy heroes because even the minions have quite a strong visual appearance (and are very often even larger than the heroes).

I didn't find it very exciting, maybe because after a couple of years of Dota I am already tired of the genre. But the gameplay is nothing spectacular and the visuals are just too much (my friend had to stop playing after 2 matches cause he got a headache from just looking at the game). I played perhaps 3-4 matches and deinstalled the beta again. Not interested in going back. :S

Factorio is early access, I don't think GS reviews early access titles. Do they?

And if they make gameplay / balance changes according to alternatives they already had in mind, whose specter is then pressuring them into submission? And again: do you understand the concept of feedback and why developers hold betas, or are you just happy to hate?

Betas are for testing functionality. Not measuring appropriate levels of social justice.

Gameplay and balance changes are neither here nor there since they have nothing to do with a pose offending reactionaries.

Oh yeah, it was pointless, one-sided discussions like this why I've stayed away from system wars. Thanks for reminding me.

So in short: Blizz shouldn't have the right to change anything about their own game when they agree a change makes more sense than the original content because people are butthurt over other people being butthurt and anything else is invalid because your opinion is the absolute truth.

I'm out again, this thread shouldn't be fed any further.

Maybe you should just read the creative director's reasoning instead of clinging on to your own version of what you think Blizz have and should be doing. The pose was up for discussion internally as well. Approval or not, the game is not in its finished state yet, thus the beta. They will try different version of different things and see if what better resonates, which of their available options make more sense. In this case, they agreed to make a change which they apparently already had an alternative for. I really don't see what the fuzz is about.

Uh huh, and if the devs had changed it all on their own--demonstrated that there was truly a pre-existing alternative--prior to release, I'd agree with this sentiment. But they didn't. They were pressured into it by the specter of misogyny.
