I love FF7 but that title goes to MGS and that is only after playing it 2 years ago. I cant even imagine how amazing it must have seemed all those years ago

Pretty bad if you played Thief and Tenchu which came out the same year before or after it.

MGS however was not a trash game, but I am not entirely sure why the game got so much Hype about 10 months after it came out. because MGS did not start becoming a best seller out the gate.

The PS2 was able to still sell well after the PS3 came out thanks to price drops, other countries could afford the system that could not afford it before. I think it might be done, if the same thing happens.

PS1(20 million) and PS2(50 million) both did very well after their successors released. Who would have thought that a console with continued support, 1st and/or 3rd party is going to continue selling at a good clip. I I expect both HD twins to match or exceed wii's sales numbers.

It's not the support of the console that help get those sales. It was the developing nations finally able to afford the system as price cuts happens.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-01-10-sony-sold-half-a-million-playstation-2s-this-christmas

PS2 sold over 5 million units(NPD) in the 14 months after PS3's launch. PS2 and PS1 both remained desirable after their successors hit the market because quality games were still releasing. If price was the deciding factor then GC would have went on to sell like gangbusters after its price cut( $99.99 in 2003) and wii wouldn't have flatlined.

Massive library + continued support + cheaper prices = Long sales legs

Nintendo consoles haven't had them in four generations. And that's why ps3 and 360 will probably end up matching or outselling wii.

Actually the majority of those sales were from other markets. Why do you think around that time PS2 software sales were stagnant and games like San Andreas were suddenly multiplying sales by 2?

For only 120 Euro (Which is a questionable price) You can buy brand newly made N64 made from the same parts but freash adding more life to your N^4 playing. Keep in mind this thread is aimed at our American Gamespot users. I also have to wonder why Lekki is (you can buy from USA) focusing a bit more on european buyers considering the N64 was near non existent over there.

Each console comes with Super Mario 64 and a controller, you can also buy a separate controller for 20 euro. All in all you will be paying $200+ for the whole package in American money.

That was a huge list. Lol.

These are the games you can play on WiiU right now if you decide to buy one this holiday season and I didn't list Wiiware or nearly half of the Wii's Library that you could play.

This is of course facing off of Xbox One and PS4.

Xbox One has

  1. Dead Rising 3
  2. Call of Duty Ghosts
  3. Battlefield 4
  4. NBA 2K14
  5. Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag
  6. Madden NFL 25
  7. Forza Motorsport 5
  8. Ryse Son of Rome
  9. Fifa 14
  10. Lego Marvel Super Heroes
  11. Just Dance 2014
  12. Need for Speed Rivals
  13. Skylanders Swap Force
  14. Angry Birds Star Wars
  15. Zumba Fittness
  16. Fighter Within
  17. NBA Live 14
  18. Crimson Dragon
  19. Killer Instinct

and that's about all the games you could get for Xbox One right now.

PS4 has

  1. Call of Duty Ghosts
  2. Assassin's Creed Black Flag
  3. Need for Speed Rivals
  4. NBA 2K14
  5. Maddden NFL 25
  6. Fifa 14
  7. Injustice Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition
  8. Lego Marvel Super Heroes
  9. Just Dance 2014
  10. Killzone Shadowfall
  11. Knack
  12. NBA Live 14
  13. Angry Birds Starwars
  14. Skylanders Swap Force
  15. Resogun

and that's all I could find on PS4. (I don't know what's on the PSN store there, there could be more.)

Right now the WiiU has the Best Library Option. Though You could also go and get a PS3 and/or 360 and play catch up there too.

Inflating the Wii U score is DD and ot the others is not even remotely fair, and the Wii BC is not a selling point because if you buy a Wii U to play Wii games you never wanted the Wii U. You also Need wii acessories to play a lot of Wii BC games if you never had a wii.

I like the Wii U and all, although I am slowly hating it, but I would not use such a completely false comparison.

So by your logic, Microsoft should have been wiping the floor with Sony. Yet sales from three generations put together still cannot outsell the PS2. It barely outsells the PS1. With all this money spent, what has Microsoft outsold besides the Gamecube?

The PS3, The Dreamcast, The Ouya, The PSP. Not sure if troll or just dumb. Sony and MS fanboys having the same dyumb arguments with nothing to back it up with the same idiots.

I am slightly torn between Other M and Skywars Sword on being the game that made me look with cringed eyes like I was crazy for continuing to play either game to the end. Funny thing is I don't remember much of either game. It actually made me want to play Nights journey to dreams because its filth was clean enough to wash the other filth out my eyes.

But is hardly outselling the Xbox One in only 13 countries? Ouch Sony.

You mean those same 50 countries it JUST NOW released in?

Sigh, nothing has changed.
