I will quietly admit that Sutherland is an almost liveable with choice. There is a dimension somewhere where I'm climbing a bell towers with a PSG-1. But as a complete and proud fan boy, I kind of need it or it ruins it for me.
I thought of that... but in the first GZ trailer release with Aiko Otsuka; if the English is driving the development.... why was it made to seem that the Japanese version was completed first, why release it first... why even keep Sutherland a secret, no English version no Japanese version. Ok I've had time to calm down a bit, my analysis: before hand YES I do want Hayter 100% Heavy subjects? - Reason for this new direction in actor? Previous games: nuclear war, corrupted governments and back room deals, death of friends and family, torture and betrayal sexual abuse and perversion, heavy enough?. Makes no sense. Immersion - Hideo never shuts up about it, surely he's not stupid enough to ruin it. No one is that cruel to fans. Makes no sense. Tone of voice? - facial and vocal qualities of a man in his late 40's? Hayter 44. Also Hayter is phenomenal at what he does (don't say yea but he's just a voice actor, if that was the case why hasn't he changed the ENTIRE cast) Makes no sense. Avi Arad - Trying way to hard to convince me I feel like. Also slights a close friends in Hayter who he worked with on the x-mens and other MGS games Sutherland - Never actually seen his voice come out of Snakes mouth... only facial animations, which if he's playing someone else would literally mean you load a different model onto the screen for him to manipulate also IMDB has him as "Ishmael" in the game... Makes no sense I'm pissed off - It kinda feels through the entire video that they are trying to piss me off. Sutherland talking about how he's not a gamer but he's "connected" to snake. Makes no sense to me. Their Clothes - Sutherland and Hideo are wearing the same clothes through the vid but it's made to look like a behind the scenes we're at difference places at different times, interview, game interview, game. Except for 1 hoodie and 1 leather jacket, just sayin. Insults - "friend of mine used to be snake" not even a name drop. kind of disrespectful and troll like. Hideo "moved" by Sutherlands commitment, unlike the 15 years of work Hayter put in, with fans, production, promotion. Halving his pay to reassemble the original cast for twin snakes. Not only makes no sense but fairly disrespectful for a Japanese guy. Sutherland - he's weird... but is he stupid enough to be talking about his inexperience when so much is riding on this game for konami and for fans of a 25 year running franchise (real fans). Aiko Otsuka - Hasn't changed, I could understand if everyone had changed it's not just snake with facial capture it's EVERYONE enemy sentries, KAZ, you name it. Literally the only person not invited to the party here; David Hayter. Makes noooooo sense. Hideo - he's an asshole, genius but an asshole. His other pranks with Ground Zero and the fake production company for PP. The Vita controversy. Not to mention all the other mind fu*&s from every other MGS release. Hayter - The jabs on twitter the comments about not wanting to lose his voice for E3. And now, as of June 7th 2013 his Twitter display pic is of him with his arm around Kojima, it was different June 6th. Technology - Sutherland "enjoy the game as much as I have enjoyed making it". So he's done? Hayter voice over the juicy facial expressions of Sutherland? One guy played the body for Dr Manhattan another played the face, acting was done on screen and voice acting added later with facial capture, why not? It doesn't make sense. And maybe it doesn't make sense because it doesn't make sense; like it's just a sad reality fueled by unknown indifferent minds; and this is just how it is. Or maybe it doesn't make sense because it just isn't true... until I see it for sure I'm not all the way convinced... heart set to hope mode. V has come to.
