[QUOTE="D4W1L4H"]

[quote="Joystiq"]Adding onto the mounting pile of news coming from an investor's briefing with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata is word that the Wii U's tablet-like controller with have "Near Field Communication" technology (NFC). In Nintendo's words, the tech will serve to "read and write data via noncontact NFC and to expand the new play format in the video game world." Owners can apparently create their own cards and figurines for use with the WiiPad's NFC functionality.

Confusing as that may be, Iwata means that the Wii U's WiiPad will come equipped with the same tech that Skylanders uses to alter its gameplay via real world objects. The tech could conceivably be used to make credit card payments as well, which Iwata specifically mentions in the last paragraph.

Confirmed online for Wii U: Ghost Recon Dragon Quest X Tekken Confirmed online for other systems - I don't see any reason why the Wii U versions would be lacking in this department though. Ninja Gaiden Aliens: Colonial Marines Dirt Metro: Last Light Others that are possible are Killer Freaks and Lego City Stories.

Ok, here is what my brain can understand. There are multiple types of RAM used in each console. Many people are confusing the main memory with this eDRAM (the 768MB mentioned). For comparison, one of the other consoles out there today has 10MB of eDRAM so this is surely a mistranslation (painguy is right; it would be rather on the large, expensive side) and it is megaBITS, not megabytes, which means it is 96 megabytes - almost ten times that of a current-gen console, but it could end up being 30-40MB which is still a significant jump. This embedded memory would be there in addition to the main memory which is widely believed to be at least 1GB. No drama here then. I'm sure there will still be a gap between the U and it's competitors but it will be significantly smaller than that of the Wii and the other two right now. If that is the case, couple it with the ease of porting we have heard about, and you will see a large number of mutliplatform games coming to the Wii U as well.

[QUOTE="MuppetusG"][QUOTE="nitromuffin"] wow 15 and up, thats mature O_Onitromuffin
A 15 certificate is not for kids, thus it is not a family-friendly game. My point in signaling out that specific game was in the fact that it is published by Nintendo to show that even they have released a game that is not aimed at everyone. I could have mentioned Dead Space, Madworld, No More Heroes, HotD: Overkill, Scarface, Godfather, Mortal Kombat for 18/M rated games on the Wii, just off the top of my head instead. Even Call of Duty has an M rating; it is not difficult to get that stuck on the cover.

If your point was that mature games are not a viable sales option on Nintendo systems then you certainly have a case outside of the aforementioned CoD series,and it is a difficult problem to solve for all parties. Nintendo would like to appeal to as broad an audience as possible, and the devs/pubs would love to sell more games but accomplishing this is, of course, the hardest part. Hopefully there is good comunication between N and other companies to build some bridges.

Edit: Crossed wires.

i would say no, because gta has never been on a niintendo system except chinatown wars, and nintendo has that family image, i dont see it, especially with a new system and tech idk, wouldnt they have to make a new engine for a new system and tech? if so i doubt they would have that much time to

I'm not sure Darksiders II and Aliens: Colonial Marines are any more "family-friendly" and they are coming to Wii U. Also the Wii has plenty of games that are not suitable for children including Pandora's Tower, a game with a 15 rating in Japan and published by Nintendo themselves.
