@tormentos: LOL,

*insert massive post of misinformation and bias

I normally stay out of participating in system wars discussions but I've never seen such great attempt at trying to (falsely) claiming a system is better....

Jeez...

I don't expect it to ever be implemented.... As Giant Bomb still hasn't had any new features added to it's forums (and they been using the same site platform longer)

To be honest, I think the higher ups really don't see GameSpot as it's flagship brand for video games (GameFAQs and Giant Bomb seem to be the more important brands)

the new layout is nice. it looks sleek and professional. it does have a plethora of bugs, but they will be fixed eventually. this layout can be improved upon, and I honestly don't see the old layout making a return. it would be spectacular to have it back, but there were some BAD bugs on the old layout, and too much work has gone into this one to warrant a rollback.

I would take a some what buggy website with useful tools and features over a newly designed sleek website that has little to no features and is just as buggy....

still think it wouldn't make sense to bring the old layout back. it had too many severe bugs, and too much work has gone into this new layout to warrant a rollback. I agree it would be amazing to have the old layout back, but I honestly don't see it happening.

This place has a hell lot more bugs than the older place ever did. If they brought the old layout back for the forums at least, then I'd be happy.

it does have a lot more, but the old layout had some BAD bugs.

I didn't really experience any bugs.

They should have fixed those, not made a whole new site!

maybe they rushed this one because they couldn't fix the old site.

What they did is copy-pasta'd giant bomb's site design 1 to 1 onto a site that's been around since the early days of video game websites, which shouldn't be that suprising that it totally doesn't work (trying to fit square peg into round hole)

Even though I voted yes, I would still have preferred to actually have a no option as some people maybe actually like new site....

The only reason why I'm using the site right now? To check in how bad/broken the site still is... Getting any useful information about any game can be achieved easier and faster with pretty much any other established video game website .

It's crazy how bad it is....

Everything about the re-"launch" of GameSpot is baffling from the copy and pasted ("inspired" according to gamespot staff) site layout and structure from Giant Bomb to the overall decrease in website functionality and usability.

How much was copied and pasted? Pretty much the entire website down to the point where swapping domain names brings up the same/similar pages, the only difference is one sites pages work and the others don't...

http://www.giantbomb.com/users/activity

http://www.gamespot.com/users/activity

Notice in the in the drop down they didn't even scrub the wiki submissions or rename user lists to "stacks"....

They weren't even bothered to change\correct the chat page

http://www.giantbomb.com/chat/

http://www.gamespot.com/chat/

The same buggy and feature-bare forum system also made it over...

The worst part is, when GB launched the same redesign back in Feburary it was only bumpy in performance and bugs for about a week...

6 seconds to load 150KB of data? what is this 2002 broadband?

EDIT: Don't know how 2 copies of the same image ended up in the post but I'm not going to fix it just as another example of how broken the Giant Bomb Gamespot post editor is

I've helped a lot of people with this issue and in all cases they misremembered their account id or email address used to sign up. To verify that your account is what you think it is, Google it + gamespot. If that id truly existed, at the very least you will see your user page in the Google results. You should see a lot more if you posted etc.. There are no lost user accounts. If you had an account in the old system I Über Guarantee you its in the new system.

Why isn't their a notice on the login page that states you must use login with your actual USER NAME and not your email address that has been used as to login since the day I joined Gamespot almost a decade ago?!

I'm certain I was using the right email address and password as I have the login information in my password manager (that I manually checked to make it was indeed the right email address and password)

I can see you Gamespot has HEAVILY borrowed their new site design from Giant Bomb's TOP MEN designers, but it needs some heavy refining as it appears too "bolted into" a very established and ancient (in terms existing on the web) but also it fitting with what Gamespot is

PS. The login page has blocked active content on Firefox, due to security risk that it poses (details can be found here and here); This issue also occurs on Giant Bomb's login page which I've tried to bring to the attention of their engineers (and still has not been fixed).

Yay! even the post editor is as bugged as GB!

[QUOTE="clr84651"]

Lots of backpedaling from MS right now. Don't be surprised if they release a new model that lets you upgrade the HDD.

Sony did the PS4 perfecty and MS messed up the X1 in lots of ways. Now MS will slowly change the X1 to be like the PS4. Pathetic company.

BlackShirt20
Dont you mean 360? The console Sony copied from top to bottom? PSN, Movie rentals, netflix, eye and yes removable HDD that it doesn't need due to the cloud that Sony also copied lol. BTW our cloud is operational already, hows yours? Our cloud can store, process and stream. what does yours do? Nothing? Why? oh its not even available until Q4 2014? thats a year away.... And it only streams and stores data? LOL.

The judgement is cloudy in this one....

moving 12ft to the left makes games non-linear now? I think all that proved is the game wasn't on rails, it still looks extremely linear.ferret-gamer
Consider this was a Kinect game at once I could see how being able to move in other directions besides forward being non-linear and "open"
