Figure out how much you want to spend, what type of gamer you are and then you are in a better place. A guy that doesnt need Max settings for his monitor's native resolution can spend much less than a guy like me, who MUST max out (AA not withstanding). Also like the first poster said, do you need a full system, or just a tower?RhamsusI don't have to max everything out, but I would like to play almost anything right now with it looking pretty good.
For the purpose of this topic, I just meant the tower. If I get a build that can run 1080p I don't have a problem spending a little extra on a new monitor. I wouldn't want to go nuts, probably not spend more than $1000 on the tower. But if I can spend less and get a good machine that can run anything I decide I want to play and has some longevity then that would be ideal. Would a $600 decent box be able to play some of the more demanding games with good settings and last me a while, barring a few upgrades if needed. Should I be aiming more around $800 or so? Sorry if I'm being vague, but I will try to answer any other questions. It really depends on your budget and the monitor that you will be using. If you're going to be using a 17-inch 1280x1024 monitor, then I would never recommend as much GPU as I would if you'll be running 1080p or higher resolution. What's the most you could see yourself spending on this? Do you need everything, as in monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc..? Do you need just the tower? You can spend as little as $500-$600 on a decent gaming box, or you can dump $1500+ if you want to go nuts, not even counting the monitor, etc..

I have been looking at topics where people help pick parts for someone to build for a week or two now. I have never built a computer and really know very little outside of the little research I've done the past week or two although I have wanted a gaming pc for a while now. If I were to start setting money aside to build one, I just wanted some opinions on what a good number would be to aim for.
I wouldn't need an amazing machine that costs a fortune but I would like to have something that could play anything now, and in the near future, fairly well. It would be nice if I could make it last for a while with an upgrade here or there if needed. I'm not asking someone to take the time to pick out parts, just asking for a few opinions.
My ps3 is apparently having an issue connecting to the PSN. I have internet connection and can get on the internet browser but I cannot sign into psn, when I try I get Error Code 8071053D. Every solution I can find on the internet claims that I need to unplug both my system and my modem/router, restart everything and set up a new connection to fix my problem. Unfortunately, I have mass internet up here at the college, I have no access to a modem or router (I just plug into the wall and have internet) so I have no way to do this. Not to mention it worked perfectly fine about 3 days ago.
I called PS Support and a guy with a heavy accent repeatedly tells me that it is obviously a network problem because my Ps3 cannot connect to the internet, which I explained was wrong. I have an IP address, I have a successful internet connection, I can surf the web on my ps3. Of course, he then says I have no idea you should contact your internet provider. Is there any way to fix this? Any suggestions appreciated.
yeah, i agree with this topic. i'd totally like the option to delete trophy info. altho i don't think you can delete acheveiment info on the 360 either.karatemasterI'm not a 100% on this (I don't own a 360, my friends do) but I think you can delete ones that you have played but have 0 achievements for. I guess it would be nice to allow you to delete games that you have no achievements/trophies for. Only game I have like that is Resistance 2.... It was just not the same as the first one.
I came home over the holidays from school and brought my ps3 back with me. I was able to play online the first few days but yesterday I went to get on MW2 and when I was asked to download the newest patch the download has an error, the same with Uncharted 2's new patch. I ran the Connections Test and everything passes except "estimated connection download" and "estimated connection upload" which both failed.
We have ran 2 labtops and a X360 with wireless internet with perfect connection, but when my ps3 connects to the internet it seems to kill the internet connection for the computers. I don't know much about wireless connections so I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what is going on and how to fix it. Thanks for any help.
This is probably a really dumb question, but I just went ahead and got a new ps3 since my old one was crapping out on me. I never played a game with trophy support before (only own Valkyria Chronicles and Metal Gear 4 so far). I just moved into a new apartment about a week ago and I'm having issues with my internet at the moment. If I play a game on my profile without creating a PSN ID can I earn trophies? if so, will they be on my psn ID once I am able to make one for this profile?
