Seems to me that Sony wants to monetize on the folks who are willing to pay premium for their PlayStation console. Won't be surprised if they keep the 500 price point for the regular options and sell the Pro for 600.

@lawgun: I'm happy you are enjoying your platform of choice, but this is about consoles my friend. And as far as these go, Xbox is known for its FPS titles, focus on multiplayer, and being the best console to play multiplatform titles.

And I thought Xbox has an identity of being the best box for FPS, multiplayer, and multiplatform titles.

I'm having a hard time believing in this theory. Wouldn't both the X and S versions see a rise if this was the case? Maybe people just buy whichever console is best and want to catch up on the current-gen library of blockbuster games?

People are so used to being ripped off by Apple, who's got more cash than multiple entire countries, that they don't even realize there's a better way for them. Seriously, it's like Stockholm Syndrome. And it's frightening.
