I wish I knew I really do. surely square would make a killing if they put the FF's on the store.

What a classic RPG I'd buy a DC again just for that one game.

Both FFX and FFXII are amazing games and two of the best I have played. FFXII's story was a little bare, which is sad because the rest of the game is so great. If it had a story on a more personal level, like FFX or Lost Odyssey, it would have achieved greatness.

FFX, on the other hand, has a very good, personal story which I loved. Problem with this title is that it is linear and some of the cutscenes are hard to watch for some people due to bad voice-acting.

If it weren't for the many other RPGs I need to play, I would replay FFXII, or at least continue with my save and attempt to get everything.

But if SE learns from FFXII, FFXIII will have a more personal-level story allowing the game to probably surpass XII and X.

X was crap XII was way better best in the series story way better i think but i like politics.Poshkidney

Are you being serious??? It had a pitiful story. no depth at all and what was there was cliche and bland, FF is famous for deep twisting stories with compelling characters, FFXII had neither of those, it was just a glitsy battle MMO single player bore.

There's honestly too many great RPG's on the PS2 to list. Have a look on google for top 10 PS2 RPG's or top 20 or what ever. It's a fantastic console if you're an RPG fan.

I've played and beaten FF10. I enjoyed that game. I thought most of the characters were cool, and while confusing at first the story was pretty good. I liked during the battles how you could switch out anyone at any moment. I've just begun FF12 now, about 6 hours worth of gameplay. And to say the least it sure does feel different. The battle system is different, but I like it. The story really hasnt taken off yet, but I'm interested in seeing where its headed. I think I'll enjoy this game. Overall I think both FF10 and 12 are worthy of the Final Fantasy name.HillyBilly

The bad thing about 12 is the story ever picks up! (really i'm not messing, and I'm not a FFXII hater, it's just a poor game story wise) don't play it for the story, it barely has one. If you like fighting and you like the battle system, play it for that, other wise play something else quick! like rogue galaxy.

I loved FFX, so much that i finished it 3 times, great story, great battle system (which was easy to understand?)

as for FFXII........ I got to the last dungeon and couldn't take any more and traded the game whilst it was still new, I loved the game for the first 30 hours, but the story did nothing, what is the story! it's so bland and cliche. And the main reason i got bored was that the fighting system seems good at first but it's pointless, why would I want to play a game where I don't even have to do the fights, my characters killed the monsters for me! and AAALLLLLLL you do for the WHOLE game is fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight. I completed all the hunts (even the most annoying one...), What a silly idea, I know lets have a side quest thats more fights, what shall i do when I get bored of fighting, oh I know, more fights. and fights I can win without having to touch the pad. All the game was, was shiny visuals. The only small thing I loved about that game was the character designs. I really wished I hadn't wasted my time getting all the hunts and summons. All FFXII was was a linear FFXI that you can only play alone. If I want shiny visuals I'll go and watch a movie (and one with a good story).

X is brilliant, so much to keep you amused, you should 100% play it. XII is ok, but it's purely fighting and nothing else, even the subquest/minigame is just more fighting, and the story is very very poor, if you like story play X its very involving and a lot deeper than XII. and as for XI I've refused to play it as it's too addictive and a waste of time, just more fighting and my friends got addicted then wished they hadn't ever started it.

[edit] Oh also if you're getting a PS2 (which you should) there are many, many great RPG's on it, I'd also totally recommend playing Rogue galaxy.
