He thinks that buying Pre-Built is better than building yourself though.

HyperWarlock

It IS better, if you have money to burn. If you don't have too much money though, it's not a smart move and custom building is alot better value for money.

But you already know this :P

Even going pre-built, there are plenty of places that are much better value for money than Alienware.

Anyone fancy linking some Hermits bashing Dark Souls then? Seen nothing but praise, and Hermits saying they watn a port because it would be good on PC. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Dunno about Ironside computers, but if your in the UK, dinopc.com is an excellent website. Got my PC from there, had no trouble with them and they have good custoimer service. They're good value for money too.

The thing about RTS games is if they are done well the community stays active for years after. There isn't a need for a lot of RTS games, because aslong as an RTS is done well, it's timeless.

Go onto your GPU's control panel and make sure that everythings set to "use application settings" - I don't know how to do it on nVidea gpu's but on AMD ones just open Catalyst Control Center>Gaming>3D Application Settings.

My rig is quite similar (Saphire 6870, Phenom 955) and I max any game at 1280x1024. Battlefield I get around 35-40 fps without anti-aliasing, but with everything else maxed. And I've never went below 60fps on SC2. I dont know how it performs at 1080p, but at 1280x1024, I max anything, and Battlefield 3 is the only game I get below 40fps on.

[QUOTE="Majistrate"]

Is CoolerMaster a good brand? Also is 450W enough power for a 6870, Phenom 955, 4GB ram, 1TB hard drive?

Moneys tight atm, so i'm watching every penny, and CoolerMaster PSU's seem cheaper.

Coolermaster aren't bad. Corsair and antec are better. I would look for a 500/550 watt for that system to be safe.

Ah ok, cheers for the advice man :)
