Games I Own

My current collection of games on PS3, PS4, and 360. Doesn't include PC or PS2 games.

Game Release Date GameSpot Score Luongorox1's Score

Assassin's Creed II

The absolute peak of the series in my mind, and one of the first games in the PS3 generation I adored.

-- --

Assassin's Creed III

A game that feels like it held back by current gen tech. It throws a lot of ideas at the wall and only some of it sticks, and was a pretty buggy game to boot.

7

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

The massive world and naval combat re-invigorates a franchise that was growing stale, making Black Flag one of the best entries in the Assassin's Creed series. The story itself is nothing special, but the world is so full of activities that the player will find themselves straying off and having much more fun doing so.

9

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

A fantastic expansion on top of AC2 and a better game in many ways, but it lacks the freshness of its predecessor.

9

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

While it's built on fantastic mechanics, Revelations isn't a particularly inspired effort that often drags on.

7

Batman: Arkham Asylum

An absolutely fantastically paced game with the right amount of creepy, and plenty of reason to explore during its tightly written story.

--
9

Batman: Arkham City

It takes everything from Arkham Asylum and improves on it, but it can feel like there is a little too much going on at times. Also lacks much of the creepiness the original had.

8

Battlefield 3

After years of hype, Battlefield 3 was disappointing. It builds on the solid foundation of previous games, but the terrible campaign and incomplete feel of the game at launch hurt it significantly.

7

Battlefield: Bad Company

A really solid second effort on console for DICE, with a hilarious single player campaign with great open levels alongside the standard solid multiplayer offering.

--
8

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

The tone of this sequel is a bit more serious, but the campaign still has the humour of the original and the multiplayer may be the best the series has ever offered.

8.5

BioShock

Straight up one of the best games I've ever played and one of only a handful that I finished and immediately wanted to start again. The only real issue is the final level of the game drags on a bit.

--
10

BioShock Infinite

A fantastic game as well as a fantastic way to expand on the BioShock universe. I love the contrasts and similarities to the original, while the game dangles the story out in front of you like a carrot you can't stop chasing.

9

Burnout Paradise

Pure arcade racing bliss. One of only a handful of games I had in the first 18 months of owning a PS3 and a game I still love to this day. It's about as close to a perfect game as I've played.

--
10

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

For better or worse, COD4 has redefined the first person shooter genre and possibly even the entire gaming industry. It elevated things to a whole other level and was a great game to boot.

--
9

Call of Duty: Black Ops

The last truly great Call of Duty in my mind, boasting a fantastically paced campaign, a multiplayer suite that changes things up from COD4, and the pinnacle of the Zombies co-op mode.

8

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Modern Warfare 2 loses sight of what COD4 started with an over the top campaign and unbalanced multiplayer. The Spec Ops co-op mode was also a huge disappointment compared to Zombies.

--
7.5

Call of Duty: World at War

--
8

Call of Duty: World at War (Mobile)

Little more than a re-skin of COD4, World at War still had a solid multiplayer offering with a darker turn on World War II in its campaign, and the introduction of the ever-popular Zombies mode.

--
8

Dead Space (2008)

Fantastically paced, absolutely terrifying, and still tons of fun to replay multiple times. Dead Space came out of nowhere to be a sleeper hit for EA and reinvigorate the dying survival horror genre.

--
10

Dead Space 2

This sequel improves on the original in a lot of ways, adding to the lore and bringing a more blockbuster, AAA feel to the series while staying in its horror roots. Unfortunately the multiplayer is tacked on and the game overall lacks the same freshness of the original.

9

Dead Space 3

The longest in the series and absolutely jam-packed, Dead Space 3 unfortunately is a better co-op shooter than a Dead Space game. It lacks almost all of the scares of the original games and the atmosphere is limited to certain areas.

7

Demon's Souls

A fantastic RPG that isn't afraid to kick players asses. Extremely challenging but extremely rewarding when you complete an area, Demon's Souls is a standout game in the PS3 generation.

9

God of War III

God of War is God of War. Lots of brutal, violent fun that can also be pretty challenging from time to time. It lacks the originality of the original PS2 titles but it's still big, bombastic, and a fantastic showcase of the PS3's power.

8

God of War: Origins Collection

These HD remasters of the two PSP God of War titles are great additions for fans of the series, and the scale of the games is surprisingly. As origins tales though, they won't be of much interest to anyone but fans of the series.

--
7

Gran Turismo 5

I always have to be in a specific mood to want to play Gran Turismo, but sometimes it's nice to kick back, maintain my cars and take em out for a race or two. Unfortunately the UI is awful and the standard car models are from the PS2 games.

7

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

The first time I played one of these music games that used to be all the rage, and it was just a ton of fun! It also introduced me to one of my favourite bands, Muse.

--
8

Killzone 2

It didn't release until 4 years after it was first show, but man oh man was it worth the wait. The campaign was paced well but hurt by some truly annoying characters, but the squad-based multiplayer was phenomenal and matched by few others in its time. The graphics were damn spectacular too.

--
9

Killzone 3

A step backwards for the series in almost every way. The campaign was poorly paced and characters were instantly changed men with no development. Multiplayer was dumbed down for more casual players in addition to map design and class balance being way off.

7.5

Killzone: Shadow Fall

Shadow Fall is a step in an entirely new direction for the Killzone series. It finally makes use of some of the established lore, multiplayer is a return to form after the disappointment of Killzone 2, and the visual and sound design are absolutely phenomenal.

8

LittleBigPlanet

A charming little game and one of the few quality platformers seen on PS3. The biggest draw was the ability to create your own levels and share them online, adding almost infinite replayability.

--
8

LittleBigPlanet 2

Still just as charming, the biggest changes in this sequel were the addition to the creation tools to allow players to create any kind of game they want and string the levels together.

8.5

MAG

An underrated, underappreciated shooter. The scale of the games was absolutely massive, and after the 2.0 update it was vastly improved. While it has its flaws, it's a game that I loved and was a ton of fun to play with friends.

--
8

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

While MGS4 was more movie than it was game, it told a fantastic story that wrapped up many of our unanswered questions. When you did get to play, the campaign was pretty fantastic to boot. The first killer app the PS3 really had.

--
9

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

This is a small slice of Metal Gear Solid, that’s for sure. It’s absolutely a much darker turn for the series, as Hideo Kojima promised us. If Konami’s goal with this release was to get gamers excited for The Phantom Pain, they most certainly succeeded. This appetizer for The Phantom Pain has some of the best gameplay in the Metal Gear saga, but I will concede that it would be much more appealing to the average consumer at $20.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

An awesome re-imagining of the classic Hot Pursuit games by Burnout developer Criterion, Hot Pursuit was a fantastically fun game that was just the right amount of challenging. It also introduced the fantastic Autolog feature that has become a staple of the series.

8.5

Need for Speed: Most Wanted

A total re-imagining of the original Most Wanted rather than a continuation, Most Wanted 2012 amps up the focus on Autolog and competition amongst friends. Unfortunately the variety of events is lacking as is the car customization.

8

Portal 2

A sequel done right. It expands on the story of the original Portal, gives us some more challenges like the original but also introduces all new elements into the playing field to change things up. It can be challenging, but it's extremely rewarding to figure out the puzzles on your own.

9

Ratchet & Clank Collection

Despite some bugs here and there, the Ratchet & Clank Collection is still a great HD remaster. Thanks to fantastic art design the games still hold up pretty well (especially Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal) and they're still plenty of fun. It's a lot of content for a small price tag, and who doesn't like that?

--
8

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

Probably the peak of the series in my mind and where Insomniac really should have left it, at least until they want to make a full PS4 title. ACiT does just about everything right, and introduces some new open level designs that are a nice change of pace.

--
9

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty

A short interquel (is that a word?) of sorts between the two mainline Future games, Quest for Booty is still excellently paced and introduces a couple of new new mechanics. A good pickup for fans of the series.

--
7

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

A fantastic first entry for the series on PS3 that expands and improves on Up Your Arsenal and features graphics that still look pretty fantastic today. 60 frames per second for the win.

--
8.5

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault

6

Resistance 3

The peak of the series that really was the kind of game I always wanted Resistance to be, but it was too little to late for this series. Multiplayer was fun but did little to standout from Call of Duty, and the great campaign wasn't enough to make up for it.

7.5

Rock Band 3

Still one of the best party games, it's a ton of fun to play with friends and family. Add in booze and it gets even more fun.

--
8.5

Sports Champions

5

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Ultimate Sith Edition

An interesting new look at the Star Wars Universe in between the prequel and original trilogies, but random difficulty spikes and bugs hamper what could've been a great first step for a new gaming franchise.

--
7

The Last of Us

Absolutely. Phenomenal. Naughty Dog's masterpiece. I don't know how these guys are planning to top it, but The Last of Us is so brilliantly done in pretty much every regard that you can ignore a few weird AI glitches.

10

Tomb Raider

Clearly inspired by Uncharted the same way Uncharted was inspired by earlier Tomb Raider games, this new entry was a fantastic reboot for the long running franchise. That said, it doesn't have a ton of replay value and the tacked on multiplayer is just that.

9

Twisted Metal (2012)

Another one of these exclusive games from Sony that was really sent out to die with no advertising, Twisted Metal was never going to win any new fans over. But for those that loved the original games on PSone and PS2, they would feel right at home with this new entry. Only three characters in story mode was disappointing though.

7.5

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Nathan Drake is back in this sequel, and better in every way imaginable. This sits on the list of must-plays for anyone who picks up a PS3. Shooting was improved and the random difficulty spikes were gone, and the game was perfectly paced. Naughty Dog even introduced multiplayer, something many were skeptical of, and they made it work!

--
9

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

An extremely good game in its own right, but Uncharted 3 came a little too close to its predecessor and didn't change enough to have the same kind of impact with fans. UC3 is still an enjoyable blockbuster romp but it may have worn out its welcome a bit. Multiplayer was expanded and improved upon as well.

8

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

One of the few early great games for the PS3, and also one of the reasons many of us wanted to buy a PS3 in the first place. Uncharted had its issues (such as random difficulty spikes and okay shooting mechanics) but its gripping story and fantastic characters brought us one of the biggest blockbuster of this gen.

--
8.5

inFamous

Another fantastic new IP from Sony this gen, I was a fan of Sucker Punch through Sly Cooper but this game put them on a whole other level for me. I binged on the game for a week straight until I had nearly 100% completion.

--
9

inFamous 2

A fantastic followup to the already fantastic original, with a more vibrant setting and the introduction of more powers. It was bigger and more bombastic which didn't always sit right with me, but the improvements made far outweigh this.

9

inFamous: Second Son
