[QUOTE="princeofshapeir"][QUOTE="Jebus213"] How is this going to ruin the franchise? Did they say anywhere they were going to stop making singleplayer Elder scolls games? Holy sh!t I haven't seen so many irrational posts in one thread before. This is really bad. The first page is terrible.Jebus213
It will likely establish terrible lore and make several Daedric princes bosses or something, like TOR made Darth Revan a raid boss. MMOs always ruin the lore of the single player franchise they are based on, and I will happily admit WoW did the same to Warcraft.

Oh that's incredibly pathetic. To sum up your post: "It will ruin teh lores!"

Have you even watched any of the lore/story videos for this game? It's beyond stupid.

-Orsimer as a civilized people in the Second Era

-Elder Scrolls are flags in CTF

-A lot of books and previous lore from the series are just "transcription errors."

Jeez, Skyrim was bad enough, but this is just... whew.

Oh, wow. After all the lore butchering, this trailer doesn't exactly help. The characters look awful. They took TES races and somehow made them ten times more generic.

Ah, screw it. I signed up for the beta anyways. The "Which Elder Scrolls games have you played" part only included Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim? Psh, these guys didn't even acknowledge the best game in the series.

Those are really poor examples for story/dialogue.

Skyrim is just generic "hurr durr dragons" with the occasional choice that doesn't really matter. Dialogue "choices" are few and far between.

Fallout 3 had a really linear plot that just slapped around Fallout lore a little. It's been a while, but none of the dialogue really stands out in my memory.

Mass Effect has an incredibly limited dialogue system (Three options labeled good, bad, and other), though maybe better than the other games in some cases. The series has a really inconsistant story, with the lore being bended or changed in each game, things being retcon'd, etc.

I never got around to beating NV, but I liked the main story in that more than 3. Couldn't really say enough about the game.

I prefer something more along the lines of Fallout 1/2, Dragon Age: Origins, stuff like that. Games that offer quite a bit more options, especially with dialogue and story choices and whatnot. It's the freedom to roleplay that matters most in a RPG.

Fallout 1 and Daggerfall are easily some of my favorites.

[QUOTE="faizan_faizan"][QUOTE="Maroxad"]

Bethesda: Oblivion and Fallout 3 were terrible games and FO3 was a disgrace on Fallout. But their worst game was easily Skyrim. How the hell can you make a game worse than Oblivion?
BioWare: Sure Kotor was pretty damn bad, but it wasnt offensively bad like Dragon Age Origins.
Naughty Dog: Jak was fun, Uncharted... not so much.

Blizzard might have been there, but 3 games prevent them from going there. StarCraft 2, Mists of Pandaria and The Burning Crusade.

Maroxad

What are you talking about? I've played both Oblivion and Skyrim and i easily think Skyrim is better than the both of them.

And I think that Oblivion is less awful than Skyrim.

I mean, at least Oblivion had a few worthwhile quests. Skyrim had no worthwhile moments at all. Not to mention, dragons and the worst magic system I have ever seen in a video game.

I would also like to say my vote out of the two goes to Oblivion, just because I can actually play and withstand vanilla Oblivion much better than vanilla Skyrim. Modded, however, Skyrim rams Oblivion into the ground.

Bethesda remains highly debatable; Oblivion and Fallout 3 were a mess, but they arguably redeemed themselves with Skyrim.charizard1605

I wouldn't say Skyrim was something that would redeem them, it was a massively dumbed down and shallow game that is unplayable without mods.
