I received a note today, from TV.com, that I have been "Retired" as the editor of "Moonlighting." Yell

This was with no warning, and no explanation.

I hadn't received any user-submissions for a while, so there wasn't anything new to post. If that's why they removed me, I don't think it was right. I checked the page and my TV.com Inbox on a regular basis. Still, it's their decision, so that's it.

I want to thank everyone who did send in submissions and reviews while I was editor. It was more fun than you can shake a stick at. I'm sitting here, and I want to cry. I'm not kidding. Yes, I'm an old softy. I remember watching the pilot, which aired just before my 12th birthday; and I saw every episode after that.

I still love that show.

Here comes February! :)

Hello, everyone. It's almost February. Time flies, doesn't it!

I've been watching "Jersey Shore," the hockey All-Star weekend, and a lot of soccer on FSC. I've also been getting more exercise, which is good. I have one of those Nike pedometers, and I love to track my progress.

I loaded a bunch of e-books from the library onto my e-book reader, but it wouldn't open them. Just those files, too. The ones that I've purchased work okay. It was disappointing, since I bought the reader so I wouldn't have to sit at the computer in order to read everything.

I haven't been playing much X Box lately. That needs to change! Laughing I've been thinking about work and some other things. Time to take my mind off them. I should get a points card and download some indie games. Those are awesome! I love the twisted little things that people come up with. To me, that's often more fun than the big-name games.

As for movies, I've been watching a lot of "MST 3000" episodes lately. Nothing like catching up with some really bad B-films! Laughing One of my box sets is missing a disc. I hate it when that happens. Oh well, I've got all the other new ones. I'll try to see if Shoutcast can sell single discs, to replace it.

We got some kind of new Korean channel, with music and anime. I think it's called M Net. I'm not sure. Anyway, it's not bad! The anime was good, and even though they only played music late at night, I kind of liked that too. I think I'll keep watching, and see what they do with it.

That's it for now. I'll see you later. Thanks.

Jan. 21

Hi, everyone. I'm still working at the same place (whew). It's a nice Friday evening, and I'm watching "Pulse" on the Fearnet channel. Now, if only they would add all the overseas channels, plus all the hockey and soccer ones, everything would be perfect! But I guess that has to wait until I get my new apartment. Laughing

I want to get some new games for my Kinect. I'm looking forward to one of the dance games, plus a fitness game. That should be a lot of fun. Hope I don't go so quickly that I fall over. Smile

At the office today, someone gave me an orange! How nice.

I think there are some parakeets living in the tree next to my front window. I hear them almost every day. Great! I love parakeets. Smile

We've been having some yucky weather lately. I hope it clears up. It's nice to go outside once in a while. (Not too much, though. Got to have time to watch TV!) Wink

Keith Olbermann has left MSNBC. His contract expired. I hope he winds up with another channel. It'll be weird waiting for him on the old station, out of habit. Please let him get another show, very soon. He's too funny not to be on the air.

That's it for now. See you later. Thanks.

Happy New Year!! :)

It's the second day of January, only one more month to Groundhog Day! Laughing I like holidays, and I think I'll count the entire year as time between the last one and the next.

I had a good time on New Year's Eve. I watched TV with my dog. Laughing I had a cold this weekend, so I didn't get to go much of anywhere, but at least I got to watch the countdown and have a good luck hug with Mom. I watched "The Crazies" on Netflix streaming over my X Box 360 today. Speaking of horror, we also have a new station, "Fear Net," on my cable setup. We didn't order it extra, I think it just appeared. They must have added it to the lineup without telling us. Well, I think it's great, so you won't hear me complain! Now I don't have to pay extra to order "Chiller."

They also had the debut of "Own," Oprah Winfrey's new channel. I watched some of the debut night. It was okay, not super exciting, but she has a ton of old episodes she could just throw on there if she runs out of new stuff. She'll probably send everybody on more trips, or something. Hey, good for her-- she's worth a gajillion dollars, so she could buy the planet Mars next, if she wants. Somebody's got to.

This is a picture of my dog. She's just hanging out, on the living room floor. Say hi, Keisha!

Okay, see you later.

Christos Gennatai! Doxasete!

Hello and Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating. Laughing I can't believe we're only a week away from the end of the year! Let's recap what happened to me: nothing. Well, that didn't take us long. Tongue out

I did get a new job a few weeks ago, for which I'm very grateful. It's a contract assignment, so I don't know how long it'll be, but I'm happy for what I have.

My cousin and his family came over. We had a great dinner, and sat around and told stories. I hadn't seen everyone in a while. His baby daughter looks cute. She is really growing!

I didn't get to see the concert from England yesterday, but I did get home in time to go to church. That was beautiful. I wish I'd remembered to get a candle. Those were nice.

One of my cousin's stepsons brought over his keyboard, and another kid borrowed my Dad's guitar, and before you know it, we had a little musical craziness going on in the front room. That was fun to see. I wish I'd recorded it. I did get a few snapshots, but no video. Smart, huh. Undecided

It's almost time for my health club membership to run out. I'm trying to think of what new place I should join. I don't know how long I'll have my job, so I don't know if it's worth getting one that's close to work. Maybe close to home is better, so I can go there any day.

That's it for now. Be careful on the roads! Happy Gnu Ears!

Dec. 12, 2010

Hello, one and all. It's two weeks before Christmas, and we have a tree in our house! Laughing It's a tiny artificial one, but the lights are beautiful.

I started a new job a couple of weeks ago. It hasn't been easy, but I'm glad to have something.

It's very cold and windy where I live. Good thing I have some gloves, so I won't have a problem driving in tomorrow. Laughing

I haven't seen a lot of new shows lately, sorry. I did watch a lot of soccer games! Smile I've been lucky enough to see some college hockey, as well. Also, I got the latest Mystery Science box set. I have a lot of movies to watch.

I hope they have some good Christmas concerts in the next few days. I always like to see the one from St. Paul's Cathedral in London. I like traditional choral music.

That's about it right now. See you later. Thanks.

Oct. 26

Hello, everyone. Laughing It's another muggy Wednesday. I had one interview yesterday, and tomorrow I have one in Tampa. Two is a pretty good batting average for the week, for me.

I've been watching a new show called 'Coast Watch' on Planet Green. It's pretty interesting. I've only just started watching it now, as the second season gets underway. It's about the Ministry of Fisheries and the Maritime Police in New Zealand. The scenery is beautiful. Someday, I'd like to go there.

I've been playing a lot of "Puzz Words," on X Box Live Arcade. It's fun. It's a simple game, kind of a cross between a word search and Tetris. Blocks with letters on them fall out of the sky. You have to arrange them into words. If you don't do that enough, you will run out of new pieces, and the board will turn grey and shut down. Yipes! Laughing I like all kinds of games, but it's nice to have one that's just relaxing at the end of the day.

I got a new iPod shuffle, and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to make the podcasts start. Then I read that you hold down the voiceover button, which reads the names of the playlists, and then you press play when you get to the one that you want. And ha, it starts. I don't know why they don't have it set up to play like a regular track, but I'm not a knower-of-stuff on certain things, so I'll just happily accept this. Laughing

That's it for now. See you soon. Thanks.

Wednesday, the bookmark of the week

Hi, everyone. It's a happy day, as the rescue of the Chilean miners is underway. I am very happy for them and their families. Laughing

We've been getting coverage of Australian Rules Football every once in a while, on one of the networks here. It's fun. I wish we got all the international channels. One day, I'll order them.Laughing We even got some college field hockey games on one of the local channels last week. College field hockey! Huzzah! Laughing

I'm almost done with a good audio book, "Scent of the Missing," by Susannah Charleson. It's about a police officer who's training a search dog. I like dogs. It's a really good story.

A couple weeks ago, my Mom and I went to a park in Clearwater, called Fred Howard Park. It's on a spit of land that goes out into the water. The views are spectacular! The picture below was taken at the park.

That's it for now. Not much else to report. I'll see you later. Thanks.

Fall is fun!

Hello, everyone. Hope you had a good time in September. In the U.S., the NFL and NCAA football seasons are well underway, and the NHL is due to start very soon. Baseball is getting close to playoff time. For soccer fans, there's the Champions League. It's time to be glued to your TV set! Laughing Well, do try to shower at least once a day.

I have been under the weather for a couple of weeks. It hasn't been fun. I'm trying to catch up on reading, and I'm going to rest up for a while, once I'm done writing this. I did manage to get out to the gym yesterday, just for a little while. Maybe I'll save the next trip for tomorrow morning.

I don't have any huge favorites among the new shows that will be up this fall, but I guess I'll try a few, just to have something new to do. I have seen a lot of commercials for Michio Kaku's show on the Science Channel. Now, I respect the man, and I like his radio show, but I got chills from some of the stuff he said about life on other planets. Maybe I'll stick to the botany shows on the local PBS channels. They always have stuff like bugs crawling across a leaf. No controversy there! Laughing

I've downloaded a ton of audiobooks from the library. I like mysteries. It should make for something to do while I take a walk next time. For now, it's time to zone out with the Weather Channel. See you later! Thanks.

Yes, the 1970s were different.

Welcome to September

Hello. Here it is... September 5? According to TV.com, I didn't write any blogs at all in August. Now how is that possible? I thought I did. I don't know where they went. Maybe they vanished. Sorry.

Anyway, I'll try to catch up. I've been watching more business news. Here is what I have learned: the numbers on the bottom of the screen are important. That is all.

I haven't seen any new drama or comedy shows. This is a frightening lack of responsibility in a TV reviewer, and I'll try to deal with it by taking a nap, or playing with my dog. See, I told you.

The good thing is, we aren't too far away in the U.S. from the new seasons in the NFL and NHL, so I'll have some things to talk about as far as those go. I also got one of the new X Box 360s, at long last, so I can play online at any time. It's a relief! I can also stream Netflix movies to my TV without moving out of bed. My mother thinks this is a miracle. She is right. :)

Okay, for now I'll go, and leave you with this picture of a duck. Have a good week!
