The return

Hello everyone who happens to be reading my blog. I haven't been here for a long time, but it's good to be back after all those years.

I have not much to tell, other than that I have been busy with my education. I am inofficially entitled Bachelor of Science, since I have not yet received the official document in which it states I have officially graduated. In a couple of days I will begin to try to attain the title of Master of Science as well. As for the rest of my personal life, there's not much to tell. If you want to know something specific, I can answer. The only thing I have been doing, which is worth telling is that I spend my time in the gym a lot. But for the past few weeks, my right arm has been injured because of.... arm wrestling! I know, pathetic, but if it's healed completely, I will put my efforts again into fitness. It's important to do sports every now and then.

Right now, I'm only doing light stuff, like cardio and using dumbells which are one third of the weight that I normally do.

I have also been playing some games. Especially when I was done with my academic year. 5 resits nearly killed me! So I needed some relaxing. I decided to pick up Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising and I really liked the campaign. The multiplayer was so different, I decided to drop it. I've also played a little Unreal Tournament, but I get dizzy very fast so I'm not playing it a lot, but still a great game. On the DS, I have been playing Scribblenauts, just to counterattack my insomnia. But the real game I have been waiting for is Golden Sun on the DS. Even though the DS Lite back then was worth the money, it now pays off instantly, since Golden Sun is coming for the DS.

That's all for now.

Mafia Wars

So, I'm playing a game right now and addiction has grown while exams are nearing and the case for a course hasn't been finished yet. But it's not that big of a deal, not being able to play, because it needs time to generate certain things so you can further develop your character. Not on the DS, Xbox, PlayStation, but on the laptop/ PC on the internet!

It's a click game where you buy weapons, cars, and other equipment to strenghten yourself to do jobs, to fight others, to rob others, to protect yourself etc. You can also buy property to generate money. The more mafia members and advanced equipment, the stronger you get, the more money you earn, the better your reputation etc.

I'm very glad I created a Facebook for all my international friends, but also for this game. You can compete online, but you can also develop yourself without interference from the outside. That is Mafia Wars! Try it out, and join my mafia :P It's really helpful because if you join mine, I will automatically join yours.

And IBIKO, thanks for the invite.. I want more mafia members.. =P

That's it for today, back to gaming!

Another profile! (No, not another on GameSpot)

So, I've been very busy lately again. University life is great, but you can barely do the things you like. But I'll get around.

As for the new things, I loved Wall-E, hence my signature containing a photo of one of the best scenes within Wall-E. This signature is created by RobbieH1234, so many thanks and props to him!

If you haven't watched it, I recommend watching it right now. Go borrow it, rent it, whatever. It's Walt Disney, it's Pixar.. you'll surely love it, like many loved Cars, The Incredibles and Finding Nemo.

Other stuff I can think about is: I just created a profile on FaceBook, so I can now also add foreign friends, instead of just people living in my country. Right now, I just took a pic of myself, and yeah, I'm not photogenic, but I will make a newer one later, where I'm not as tired as I am on that photo. Anyway, here is the link, and if you just tell me who you are, I will accept you =)

In other news, I haven't gamed for a long time. Some weeks ago, I did finish the storyline within Professor Layton and the Curious Village, which was a great game. I still have to solve 19 puzzles, but I don't know if I'll do that. I've also started another game, some weeks ago, which is Dragonball Origins on the DS as well. I don't really like it, and I've stopped playing. Not my kind of game I think.

I don't want this blog to become on huge blob of nonsense, so I'll end with the purchases I made. During this crisis, I still managed to buy things:

- Boondock Saints - 2 disc special edition

- Wall-E - 2 disc special edition

- Cars

- Finding Nemo - 2 disc special edition

- Step Up 2 (yeah, I know, girly, but I like it :P)

- Aladdin - 2 disc special edition

- Western Digital HDD 1 TB (I needed some space)

Absence of a fragment of a lifetime

Hello everyone,

It's good to be back.. My apologies for not having notified you all for my inactivity on GameSpot. I visited the site regularly, to read reviews, just out of curiosity or for my job, without logging in.

I had been very busy recently, but I hope I can spend more time on GameSpot as I had in the nostalgic days. Although I don't know whose support I can entrust myself with, I will be contributing to the handful of good friends I have on this gaming site, which has changed so much, since I last logged in.

I have neglected my unions, but most importantly of course, the members who expected an active leader supporting the continuity of the union. I hope I can revive the thoughts of those loyal members, but in life it's more difficult to regain than to lose. Same applies in this virtual life, we seem to share.

I have done a lot in the months I haven't been here and have been enjoying as well. I have overcome some hurdles along the way, but life wouldn't be good, if it would all be roses and sunshine. It's December time, and so it is time to spend certain time periods at home, just to enjoy being in my cozy apartment.

Well, that's enough for my blog. I will try to be more active from now on, after tomorrow, since I'm now just making an excuse to taking a pause from studying for my exam tomorrow.

In short, if no one wants to read about my thoughts at the moment:

I'm back!

I recently watched Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, because so many people recommended it to me. I was immediately hooked after the first episode and witnessed its greatness. I would recommend it to you all, but only if the first two requirements are met:

1. You're familiar with anime

2. You watched Full Metal Panic 1 (and maybe 2, but that's not a preriquisite)

I don't think you all know this, but I laugh a lot and at a high volume, some might say. Actually everyone might say, but that sounds too negative for something so positive.

I laughed a lot while watching every episode. Too bad it only has 12 episodes and I finished watching it in two days, which was fairly slow, because I finished Death Note with 37 episodes, each 20 minutes, in 3 days.

Bonta-Kun rules!

Full Metal Panic Fumoffu

Maybe I should put this image on my shirt and take the flight to Heathrow.

Revival of a sleeping account!

Hello all, Lance here. All revived and all, isn't that a surprise?

I'm still using my other account (which is Alphacy by the way), but I thought I would revive the famous name I created with this account. After all, it has been so many months since I left this account, and talking to you all would be so nostalgic. It would create a magical feeling which I will never forget. That's for sure, I can guarantee you that.

Sorry for my sudden departure, I had to focus on my social life and university. Still very busy, but I always have spare time for my community friends on GameSpot.

So who's with me?!

Inactive Secondary Account

You've probably noticed this already, I haven't gone anywhere with this account for some time now. This is actually a goodbye from this profile. I will still be on GameSpot, but I won't be using this account.

So short, a blog can be...

Modification: Death Note Style!

I have recently watched all 37 episodes of the best anime available: Death Note. I was sad, because I finished watching it within 3 days. It's a shame that such a great anime should end this soon.

But in order to show my dedication to this great anime, I have modified everything there is to modify. A Death Note banner, a Death Note sig and a Death Note avatar.

Death Note Signature:

Death Note Sig

All hail Kira! Gami!!

Same Old Story: College

So I am starting the university engine again, this time for Business Administration. In 5 hours I have to wake up to get ready for my first day of college. I'm not nervous at all, I'm just afraid that I won't be able to listen while being focused, because of lack of sleep. I need about 10 hours of sleep to be fully awake. 8 hours I would say is sufficient.

College is going to kill me and so will the members in both my unions. I apologize for the little time I will be spending on GameSpot probably, since I will be at school or busy studying for 2/3 of the time and the other third I will be spending time with friends and in the gym. Fitnessing has become one of my hobbies, and finally I am able to do some table tennis as well. I will check both unions frequently but I won't be spending much time as in the old days.

Also an announcement, I'm quitting my job and I'm attempting to make it my last day yesterday, by making a phone call tomorrow, or perhaps today. So no more movie reviews from me, except if it were to be a horrible movie or a great movie. I will still go to the cinemas here and then, but with college and stuff, I think I won't have much time on hands. But you can always ask for my opinion.

I'll see you all when I see you!!

The Simpsons Movie... in 2D!

A week or two ago I went to a movie, which was created because of the popularity of the series. Yes, the blog title already revealed it, but what the heck: The Simpsons Movie.

The Simpsons Movie Posters

All in 2D, how is that possible? But Matt Groening and cast managed to pull it off! *applaudes*

Just a quick note before reading: Watch this movie in its original language: OV (original version). This is what makes the movie so funny. Anyway, on to the real deal.

Run! Run! Run! Run! Run! Run! Jump! Jump! Land! Land! Rest! Rest!

The Simpsons Movie was the real deal all right. It sets an example of how all comedy movies should be. Voices like the ones from Dan Castellaneta (Homer Simpsons and such), Julie Kavner (Marge Simpson) and Nancy Cartwright (Lisa and such) bring the whole Simpsons ambience all back again. And that's a good thing, because it wouldn't be The Simpsons if they were not there to do the voice overs.

The film begins with a natural 20th Century Fox sign, but this time an unannounced guest pops up and sings along. Now who would that be? Only one way to find out...

Steady... steady...

When the real movie begins, you immediatety recognize the statement I made earlier: it's in 2D, like the series itself. And it's a good thing, just imagine how it would look like in 3D. Just look on the internet, and you'll see that even the jokes wouldn't help this movie, but to flop. But of course, first, The Simpsons OST. duuuududududududududududu... I'm not that good in humming, so I'll leave the rest to you. But it wouldn't be the Simpsons without this theme. And after that, the story begins:

It goes as follows: Springfield is pollution. Garbage goes into the water supply and... well.. garbage goes into the water supply. The mayor finally takes action and he permits anyone to dump their garbage into the river, with a little persuasion from Lisa, who happened to find her soulmate, while informing all inhabitants. (Not again!?) In the meantime, Homer Simpson decides to save a pig and bring it back home, calling him Spider-Pig and later on Harry Plopper. When Marge asks him where he left all its faeces he shows her a big metal tin can. Marge tells him to get rid of it and what do you know, he 'accidentally' dropped it in the river making the water more polluted than it is. The President of the United States, Arnold Schwarzenegger realizes that it has to be stopped and so he contacted one of his ministers, an evil one if I might say. The minister presented him with a couple of options which he lays on the table. The President randomly picks one of them without reading them. 'I was elected to lead, not to read' he said in a Schwarzenegger voice. So an almost indestructable bowl has been cast upon them, so they will be isolated from the outside world. The Simpsons are being chased at, find a way out of the bowl and arrive in Canada. And that's where you'll have to watch for yourself.

Simpsons cast

All Simpsons characters play a part in this marvellous movie!

Although the story is not its strongest point, that's not something of the essence here. We all know that an action movie is great when it has a lot of action, while having a reasonable or bad storyline e.g. Transformers. Same goes to The Simpsons movie, bad storyline, but great comedy. Its jokes are infinitive. They keep generating and you keep laughing, especially as a Simpsons fan you'll surely enjoy it. And if you're not a Simpsons fan, do not be afraid, it's a comedy and it's even more entertaining for you, as a non-Simpsons fan, because you go with low expectations. High or low, it doesn't matter, you'll enjoy it one way or another. Great quality and quantity jokes, the Simpsons way.

The sound was very good, the original voices were in sync with the characters when they were opening their mouthes. Not to mention that the music and theme song make this movie even more enjoyable. But what's more to the sound were the dialogues, which were sometimes intriguing, but mostly funny. It's definitely something to look out for.

Summarized: Having a bad time, planning to go to the movies, going on a date, not having laughed for 10 years? Go to The Simpsons Movie. Even Tom Hanks played a role in it. And we all know Tom Hanks movies are great. If the jokes can't entertain you, you surely are no human and if you are certain you are, you cannot be saved. Recommendable to everyone, but I do warn you: You will see a Johnson for a second, so if you are afraid of those, don't go.
