Ew, what an awful month.

by on

First my cat had to be put to sleep,

Next, my car was broken into and my GPS was stolen (worth about $550), glass was shattered...and on top of that my car was soaked due to heavy rains.

Thirdly, I had a bad cold that lasted for a week.

So, yeah, I'm looking forward for a new month.

I did about 70% of Cube for PSP. There's not much replay value, but I had fun regardless. I just didn't want to spend the time trying to complete the game 100%. So I just returned it. I'm now playing Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets that I haven't played in a while (I was stuck at one part for days and days...then when I picked it up just now, it only took me a few mins to complete it. LOL!), and Resident Evil 0. RE0 isn't bad, I'm actually very impressed with the graphics considereing it's a GameCube game. The controls takes a bit getting used to though. The only thing I don't like is lack of subtitling, but thanks to GameFAQs, there's a game script that I can follow.

I'm Baaaack...again.

Sorry my fellow readers...

I actually have been avoiding GameSpot for a while because I keep finding myself checking everything every 10 mins or so, and it's just driving me insane. Plus, I've run out of things to say...writer's block.

I wanted to see the E3 stuff just so I can get the emblems, but alas, I was unable to...it won't let me open anything, so I missed my chance. Like it would actually help me anyways because I'm deaf. Hello?!

Seriously - not much has happened since I last wrote. I finished my game design class, and I must say that I'm really disappointed. I thought I totally deserved a low A or high B for my final project, instead I was given a 100%. I don't think the teacher cares or really looked through it because I know there's errors in there. I know i should be excited about earning an A, but I went to RIT and these classes that I'm taking now is a joke compared to RIT classes. I'm seriously thinking about transferring back to RIT, but I ain't sure right now. :-)

July 3rd, I had to put my beloved cat to sleep. She was battling cancer for 2 years...the doctors only gave her 4 to 6 months...she outlived that. It was very sad to see her go, but you know what, I'm at peace. I made the right choice. For a year now I've been on the fence of when I should put her to sleep. I don't want to feel that I put her down because it was "convience", or she still had a pretty good quality of life. However, the July 1st weekend, she was really not herself, and appears to be very uncomfortable, that's when i knew that she was ready.

I also have a blog that is more of "non-gamer", if you're interested (hey, it's not the greatest, but who the f*ck cares.)

I quit playing Hotel Dusk. It's too much talking, no action and all that. Sent it back. I got "Cube" for PSP. It's interesting, some puzzles are hard, some are easy. I'm glad that I'm renting it because I am almost done with the game. I know the hard areas will be..umm..hard. :-)

I am also playing Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets on GameCube. I have a lot of games that I haven't played or finished it. So, that's what I'm doing now is to FINISH the dang games that I have! On top of Harry Potter, I'm playing Zapper...it's okay, but annoying to be killed all the time.

I will try my best to keep y'all updated.....

has it been?

I still have the Hotel Dusk in my DS. I need to get started at finishing it. I'm playing Pharaoh for the PC now. I love that game, I can't explain it, but it's such a great city building game. Roy got Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. That's a lot of fun as well, but I feel that there's a little TOO much to do, while in Pharaoh, it's just the right amount.

Manhunt 2 gets banned

I am not surprised that Take-Two is getting yet another "banned" game. Don't people realize that when they hear about a banned game, or higher rating, that they will go after that game? Or get money off eBay for selling it. That's probably exactly what they're looking for. On the other hand, violence that severe hasn't really been out there in the 80's or 70's in arcades and Atari, NES. Feel free to correct me, but I don't see any chainsaw welding b*tches aiming to chop off your head with blood squirting out in the NES library. Yes there has been controversal games, or games that's considered mild violence in today's time (Mortal Kombat anyone?).

Anyhoo...I'm off to my hidey hole.

New Game!

by on

Well, after I returned Ratchet and Clank back to GameFly, I got the next game...Hotel Dusk: Room 215. It's quite a change for me after playing action-adventure games for the last few months, with exception of Paper Mario: TTYD.

At first I thought i was going to hate the game after going through the intital converstation...boy, that was LONG! Then I grew to like it. Holding the DS is a bit awkward because the top screen is to my left. I think i'm going to switch right handed to left handed. So I can look at the screens like a book instead of a Magna. :-)

I'm stil playing Castlevania: POR, and I've already put in 32 hrs in it. LOL! It's a damn lotta work, but I'm enjoying every min.

Just Busy

Not too much to say here,   still playing Castlevania: POR. It's very good. The only small gripe I have is that it takes FOREVER to Master a weapon. For those who have played, knows what I'm talking about.  The only thing I have left to do is to Finish the large portrait, and Nest of Evil. I rather get all the weapons, master the Holy Weapons to complete a quest for Wind, etc before beating the final boss. Unless, if you think it's more fun to beat the boss then collect the weapons later? Anyone?

My Wii has been collecting dust since I finished Paper Mario: TTYD. I have dusted off my GameCube to play Resident Evil 4 on Pro mode...and I used Action Replay. Believe me when I said I've tried to play the Pro without any cheats...it's just a little too much. I just need a bit of help here and there. I don't go crazy and make myself invincible though.

My next game on the GameFly queue is Cube for the PSP, then Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for GC. Anyone have played Cube for PSP?

My Xbox is REALLY collecting dust. LOL! The last game I've played (more of, fiddled around with) is Morrowind, but I found that game to be a little bit out of my league and overly complicated. LOL.

My bf and I found a used computer that was tossed in the trash...only a few years old, NO operating system (I, however, am able to get XP for free from a friend), so we're going to use it for ROM games and my favorite Windows game, Pharaoh.

That's about it everyone.....another view in my boring life.

For Mr. ArkansasBoy

I played about a total of 4 to 5 hours of R & C. I'm disappointed in this game...it got me SO frustrated. I hate the controls. I tried switching the control of analog to D-Pad, not much help. After about 10 mins of playing, by using the analog stick, my thumbs hurt...and that's not good. :-(

The camera is very wonky, and I hate it...it's not the same as playing it on PS2.  It's like playing Me and My Katamari for PSP...it's just weird. If you LOVE R & C, I recommend you to RENT it instead, seriously. Or even borrow it from a friend. If it doesn't immerse you within a hour, it's not worth it.  I did NOT beat the game, and I ain't gonna try.

Castlevania - I have played the NES version, but I could barely pass the first boss (I never said I am an excellent video game player), and there's no saves or whatsoever.

I really like the DS/ Advance games, so I do recommend you to try. Start off with Circle of the Moon, or Aria of Sorrow. There's a lot you can do...upgrade weapons, reach for higher levels, get experience points, etc etc. Sometimes it can be a little hard, but if you increase your experience points and learn what's the best weapons and strategy to beat the bosses, it will all be worth it.  If you're "not sure", rent it. GameFly is your friend.

Playing new games

by on

I returned SSX Blur to GameFly. I was disappointed with this installment. The Ubertricks isn't too bad, and takes a while to get used to. However, doing the Slalom is a PIA! I got Gold in ALL of the events within two days, but I can't unlock 2nd Peak. For the life of me, I just can't perform the Slalom well.   The trails are the same as On Tour and SSX3, so in a way, I feel like I ain't missing anything.

I'm playing Ratchet and Clank on PSP now. I'm a wee bit disappointed with the controls. I can see why people get their thumbs hurt when using the analog stick. I'll play for a while, and see how it goes.

On top of that, I'm playing Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin for the DS. Dang! I love this game. I remember back when I played Castlevania Circle of the Moon all the way to Dawn of Sorrow back to back. Took me a month to play 4 games. :-) Of course, it was at the time that I pretty much ignored my bf. LOL! I believe for Dawn of Sorrow, I worked my behind off to reach to Lvl 99!!!!!! I beat Alucard easily....like in 5 or 6 wacks.

Odd thing is, I never played any Castlevania on any of the consoles. I remember when i was young I would play Castlevania for the GameBoy. I never was able to reach the final boss.

I highly recommend Castlevania for anyone.

Finished Paper Mario: TTYD

by on

It's a humbling experience, and yes some struggles....I beat Shadow Queen. It only took me 4 tries. LOL!  The first time, I literally had bad badges combo, and kept using my 'Shrooms the first round. Learned my lesson. I still had bad badge combo, and bad defense. The 3rd time, I was very close, but Vivian died, and then Shadow Queen leashed her anger, then I died. This time, I made sure that the badge combo is good, and not to worry about HP Plus, or Jumpman (Even though it was recommended to try, and just use powerbounce....it didn't seem to work for me that well), etc...so this time I just used my trusty Piercing Hammer. The rest are stats increasing. By the end, I had no FP (and dummy me, I had a Maple Syrup and Jammin' Jelly!!), so I just did normal attacks. I only used one Ultra Shroom. Bada Bam...Shadow Queen is dead.

   What's next?

Pit of 100 Trials

by on

Well, I finally reached the last boss, and I was killed easily. I had almost no life shrooms or any extra items I could use. I knew I needed more badge points, and higher HP. SO, I decided to go back to Rogueport and do the Pit of 100 Trials. The first time, i got killed at level 73. I knew that I messed up with my badges combos, so I decided to look at FAQs for help.

Yesterday, I decided to try again. I started at 7:15 or so, maybe earlier. I was pissed that I could not leave the pit of 100 trials, and come back...I had to go through all of them! Anyways, I did really well and at 98, I leveled up. Then 99...OH god, I hated that level because of the Elite Wizzard...my HP started at 90, and it got down to 40 or something...that was GOD awful!! I only had two good partners left as the others were killed.

Then came Bonetail.

I was told to use PowerJumps as it can really bring him down...what I didn't KNOW was I could use it on his PAW, not his head...no wonder WHY it didn't work!!! What a waste of FlowerPoints!! All my partners were killed, I had NO items (seriously, NONE!), and I used up all my ultra shrooms (I had 3, so that brought me up 30 HP). All my Star Points were gone because I used one from level 99 (what a PIA), and then my audience got bombed so it was raising as much. I knew that if I died in Bonetail, I would have to start this whole thing all over again, and then I would be more pissed because of Level 99! I kept using normal jumps because NO flowerpoints, NO Starpoints, and all my partner was dead. The few times that Bonetail swatted me with his paw, I got "LUCKY" cuz he missed, thank goodness for Lucky Day, Lucky Start, Pretty lucky!. Then I hit him one last time.....FINALLY HE's DEAD!!!!!!!!! Guess what my HP was? 4 out of 90! Man, one more swat, I would have been dead...SERIOUSLY!!

OH gosh, you wouldn't believe the RELIEF when I finally beat the crap out of him! Then I had to be careful on going back to Rogueport to go to the inn. I had 999 coins before going in the pit, blew it all on all those shrooms....I didn't realize that it would get more expensive.

The time I finished... 11:35pm. LOL!! I felt so bad for my boyfriend because he was watching TV and stuff, not bothering me at all. He came home late due to a class he wanted to take, but still! I profusely apologized to him for letting the game get me so involved!

BUT DAMN IT...I COMPLETED it with 4 HP left...using NO flowerpoints, NO partner at all...dang!

Wooooot!

NEXT - I probably will go around Rogueport sewers and kill enemies, and maybe go around a few towns and kill them so I can at least get a lot of coins back to buy more items...good thing I have quite a LOT stocked up at shops because i didn't have enough room, now I can put in 20 items using Strange Sack. I should have no problem beating the crap out of Shadow Queen. :-)

Game ON!

Finished!

Beat RE4! Wooooo! It was a bit easy for me at the final boss. It was very satifiying. I am replaying it again on nomal mode with all my weapons upgraded to the max, because I had a lot of money.  I did try trading in all my weapons and treasures for 1 million pestas, to get the Infinite Rocket Laucher. It was "okay"..but in melee attacks, it will be way too hard to just have the rocket laucher...I killed Ashley because of that. Maybe I'll play for the third time through so i can have some other wepons as well. I have tried Pro mode...whoa. :-) I got killed easily at the village. I don't think I will attempt to really beat Assignment Ada or the merchainaries without any cheats...I am good, but not that good. :-)

I finished getting the 7th star from Paper Mario: TTYD....and there's still a lot more to go. *sigh*

I  got my first rental from GameFly - SSX Blur....I must say that I'm a bit disappointed. It took me a while to get used to getting the ubers, and the controls. I think I will play with it for a week, then return it. Thank goodness I didn't buy it...I would have been reallly disappointed!

Real life - busy doing spring cleaning at my apartment. That's about it! Sorry for a boring post. :-)
