Before I start, here is a brilliant quote from an OT board about why this guys church won't let him drink:
[QUOTE="LZ71"]I'd get out of that church. avatar_genius
You spelt "cult" wrong.
Anyway, onto the review, and yes I know it's late, suck it up.
Track 1 - Song Of The Century: A good song, not really one you would ever listen, but it's different and I like it.
Rating : 5/10
Track 2 -21st Century Breakdown: This I like, it's not really a Green Day kinda vibe, but it's catchy, with solid rythms and a good song structure
Track 3 - Know Your Enemy: This is more like it! This is Punk right here the drum beat is awesome, a warning though, fans of Rage Against The Machine, don't listen to this song, because this is so much better. It's a cool song with a slighty deeper meaning underneath if you look for it, did I mention the drum beat?
Track 4 - ¡Viva La Gloria!: This is a bit of a change, it's quite slow but, like the most of the album, has a deeper meaning, but at around 1:09, it all changes. Suddenly, there's a punky kinda song.
Track 5 - Before The Lobotomy: When I first heard this song, I was reminded of Metallica, that opening guitar sounds very simaliar. This is also a song that changes after a bit, but it works.
Track 6 – Christians Inferno: A change of pace, this is a brilliant song that I really love, maybe one of the best of the album. I like the bassline also.
Track 7 – Last Night On Earth: Another slow song, a nice song, a change from the deeper meanings, this song is kinda like a Green Day rock-love ballad.
Track 8 – East Jesus Nowhere: I love the guitar riff at the beginning, it's pure genius. It also kinda takes a dig at religion, so don't listen to it if your very religious. I also like the bass solo, it reminds me of "Holiday"
Track 9 – Peacemaker: Now this is different, it's not really rock, it's kinda like a country/punk thing. This song also has a very sick bassline.
Track 10 – Last Of The American Girls: I know I've said this a lot, but I like this bassline. This song also has this beeping at the end which carries over to the next song.
Track 11 – Murder City: Yes, this song does have a nice bassline ;), its not my fault Green Day has awesome basslines. This song is a nice fast punky kinda song that is really ace.
Track 12 - ¿Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl): I like the piano intro and also the carnival kinda vibe, know what I mean. This song seems to be about a kid that has nowhere to go.
Track 13 – Restless Heart Syndrome: Don't let the intro put you off, this is a very punk song, it has a nice mix of slow rock and fast punk, which builds up slowly.
Track 14 – Horseshoes and Hand Grenades: This is classic punk right here, all the other songs deserve -5 in comparison this song. Johnny and Sid would be proud.
Track 15 – The Static Age: This is a cool song, and yes, I like the basslineJ;). This is also a nice punk song, it's all about the breakdown of society, from what I can tell.
Track 16 – 21 Guns: Aha, it had to happen, a song about war, but this time it's not an up-beat punk song like American Idiot or Holiday, but it's still good.
Track 17 – American Eulogy: Don't let the intro put you off, this is not "Song Of The Century" no, it's much better. A nice change from "21 Guns" in that it's a lot faster. The guitar riff in the chorus is also really cool.
Track 18 – See The Light: Once again, don't let the intro put you off, this is not "21st Century Breakdown". It's not as good but it's not bad either.
Best Track: Horseshoes and Hand Grenades
While it's not as good as, say, Nimrod or Dookie, this is by no means a bad album, my only fear is there gonna do a "Fall Out Boy", and become mainstream so that teenage girls will buy all their merchendise :?
