I disagree. First, I think that O'Neill, not Jackson, was always set up as the main character (at least in the series).ArdnekGames
OK. If that's the case I still maintain my point: It's not the same. After eight years of following the same cast and getting to "know" them, to all of a sudden plop some new guy in there feels awkward and weird. I'm not particularly impressed with the new general especially since he comes off as a dick. RDA was great. He had that subtle sense of humor and always air of sarcasm about him that was never hostile. This guy just feels stiff, no emotion or range or anything.
To try and phrase it more specifically so as to not sound like I'm just whining, this guy seems to be playing the part as if he could give a @#$! less about being in command. Almost as if he was sent there against his will and is now just serving out his time until he gets another assignment. While Gen. Hammond before him and Gen. O'Neil were there from the beginning and had a history with the program, so therefore they care more about it. This guy seems to be like, "Well, do whatever you want as long as the job is getting done," as he walks into his office and shuts the door.
