The man has feelings. He's been with GameSpot for over ten years. In a way, it is his life's legacy up until now. Do you really think this is necessary?

I don't see how CNET could possibly think this is the right decision. This will only hurt them. Very, very badly.

Well, if this is confirmed and GameSpot doesn't have a damn good reason, I'm definitely outta here. I like to think that I contributed a lot of great stuff to GameSpot and have an impact by leaving, but I can't do it alone. If you guys are really against the decision, do your part in leaving, and certainly cancel your subscription to GameSpot Total Access if you're a member.

[QUOTE="GodModeEnabled"]The GOTY hasnt been released yet (Mass Effect)Demodocus

Mass effect will probably be my personal GOTY but when Ryan Davis says if he could only play one, he'd pick Rock Band over Mass Effect I just get the feeling that Mass Effect doesn't have the universal appeal require for GOTY.

Metroid Prime won GOTY in 2001 though, and I don't think a lot of people would argue that it has universal appeal. It's a pretty polarizing game experience when you think about it. A lot of people just can't get into it. I think an RPG with more action and shooting elements (Mass Effect) definitely appeals to a larger audience though.

I think it really depends on whether Orange box is eligible or not. It's really multiple games rather than one, and it'd be weird to crown it as the "Game of the Year". I'm gonna guess Mass Effect or Super Mario Galaxy, although Halo 3 certainly has a chance.

FlaminDeath - What do you mean? GameSpot has never awarded Halo GOTY.

I love beer pong, but I see no reason to play it on the Wii when there's a perfectly good table in my friend's dorm room.

This happened to me recently with Tony Hawk's Project 8. I was really enjoying it too, but for some reason every time I attempt to move the story along through goals, my 360 freezes.

I love the shotgun. It's a staple in most shooters and it's always packin' heat.
