OSX: Look at my system... pretty cheap parts, if you know where to buy. Just dont go Dell or Alienware if you want to game and still have money in your pocket. Of course, if you want aboslutly ubermax settings at extremely high resoltuion images, of course you need a beast PC. But Bioshock looks amazing at a decent resoltuion on max settings with my "humble" PC :)

I can run Bioshock on MAX settings at 1280x800 widescreen (I think thats what its around) with: AMD 3800+ AM2 single core ($65) 2GB RAM ($105) X1900GT ($110, open box) Not bad for a "stick in the mud" PC! I plan on upgrading my CPU next, good thing I used a good motherboard that SUPPORTS better stuff so in the future I wont need to completely buy a new PC if I want to upgrade to uber high-end settings on my games. Only thing I gotta worry about are my crappy case/fan temps :P

ccn: Read the comments, it WILL NOT RUN because your video card doesnt support DirectX 9.0C, which is required to run Bioshock (it mentions this)... you need a video card that does. Any ATI video card within the x1000 series or higher will support this, and any video card that is nVidia 6600+ or higher will support this.

What?! Gamespot ACTUALLY did performance tests on various different computer set-ups!? WAY TO GO! I always find it alittle funny when benchmarks done by most websites always test with extremely high end systems, only chanign out the video card.... Its really awsome they are actually benching full systems!

The End was the best boss battle ever, gameplay wise IMO, and The Boss was an awsome fight too. The only thing about the MGS3 bosses though is that they just didnt have much of a backstory in them, like in MGS1+2, except for The Boss and The Sorrow, which kinda sucked.

Even though I know what all this does, its nice to see screenshot differences and performance differences between AA+AF, and resoltuion if you dont have the top of the line video cards. Now I know I'm not really missing anything if I wastefully give away preacious resorces to x16 AA and AF :P

Yeah, sorry if it seemed alittle flameish, but I couldnt help but notice how you didnt like SupCom because it was too much like TA, but C&C3 isnt any different from it's past either ;) And supcom is a game that does take a while to get used to or learn. It wasnt untill I played about a month of it off and on till I got into it.

If thats not ironic Herodotus... you say "big deal!" to supreme commander because you already played similar gameplay in TA, yet you herald Tiberium Wars for being like the old C&C games and what TS should of been? Hipocracy at its best, Supreme Commander is more different from it's prediciessor than TW was from it's predicessor. Sure, Tiberium Wars has higher production values and more "personality", but that isnt everything ;) Both games are great though. If someone is interested in getting a new RTS, I highly reccomend they get both C&C3 and SupCom, as both are the top picks of the genre at the moment.

These high end cards are not really for gamers, considering most human eyes dont notice differences in perforamacne above 30 FPS as long as it doesnt fluxuate, and more "sensitive" eyes will see 60FPS (with no fluxuations) as even more perfectly smooth. Remeber, movies that do not use motion blur run at about 24 FPS, and it looks completely smooth. The people who desire 60+FPS are really idiots who like to show off alot. AA in many people's opionion do not make much difference in quality AT ALL if your runnign the game in a high resolution at 1600x1200. 2x-4x is enough to run any game at a standard resolution and see amazing picture quality. Honestly, look at that 3D Mark picture on the last page. Do you notice any real difference in the larger screenshot? No? Thats because AA doesnt do much at a high resolution, only if you run at lower ones or "zoom in" like in the screenshot. Especially if your in motion. In closing, realize that all of these video cards are really made for game developers or people who make high-quality renders (such as for commercials, movies, or just a hobby), they are the ones who really NEED the performance, and need it now. Gamers will do fine with the "performance" video cards to get high settings in stuff, and "mainstream" to get high settings in any game from 2004-05 and medium-high settings in the LATEST games.

All of the suggestions so far are pretty good! Heres some that are abit different, being that you can download all these for free, and are really good and run well on bad hardware: 1. Tremulous - http://www.tremulous.net 2. Total Annihilation: Spring - http://taspring.clan-sy.com (a game that plays alot liek some of teh Supreme Commander footage we have seen!) 3. Vega Strike - http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net 4. America's Army - http:www.americasarmy.com 5. Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory - http://www.google.com (google it for a download). Those are some of the top 5 good games that run well on old hardware... and are free!
