Sometimes a good story is hard to come by with these games. What is the best story, and what is the worst? Please say why.

Best: Max Payne 1 and 2. A little confusing at times, but through simple comic strips, you start to really feel for Max as the story unfolds. It takes the whole "tough as nails cop with nothing to lose" and adds a whole new sense of darkness to it. Sure, it's not a BIG story, but it's the best IMO because it achieved so much while putting forth so little. One of the best characters too. Bioshock and Mass Effect are up there, but for some reason I always come back to Max.

Worst: Jericho was a mess, but inventive all the same. The award goes to Crysis. It's like they didn't even try with this story and they just focused on the gameplay. It's a mess. It was as if a three year old was telling you a story and was justing making it all up as he went. A shame too.

These large budget titles come to mind the most. Basically, I'd like to get some ideas of future games to play. I want a really good story, but i don't want to sit through a whole RPG to get it, at least, not all the time.

Thanks!

Crysis. I have no clue how the hell people thought that game was good. It was horrible. Everything. Multiplayer was plagued with hackers, but could be fun when a good admin was there. Single-player was the biggest disappointment. Gameplay consisted of cloak, move, uncloak, repeat and despite everything the reviewers say, it is pretty goddamn linear. The enemy could take more shots than you, and had no-recoil hacks. Yet, they seem to be too stupid to effectively beat the cloak or find out where you are, despite the fact that you are running towards them at full speed. And the graphics? If you didn't have a top-of-the-line computer then you either played a slide-show or a game with below average graphics. It was obviously not meant to be played on anything other than top of the line. The vanilla settings are complete crap, and the beauty of the game is only revealed in custom configurations or levels with custom time of day. Even then, to see graphics as good as the developers originally advertised, you'd have to play a slideshow on even the best computers. Everything about that game sucked for me and I gladly lent that game to my friend for an indefinite period so that it would stop stealing the dust that it is not worth in my house.HOMIE_G64

I agree 100%. So many graphical and frame rate issues, even on my quad core and Gforce 260x. The story was terrible. The aliens looked terrible and it was obvious that they didn't know where to go with the story. Sometimes the bigger war zones were fun to play through, but i just couldn't get past the fact that the story was completely horrid.

DUDE, get the heck out of these forums! What are you thinking! Thanks for the spoiler, jerk!!!

My most frustrating moment was when i was just a very young gamer. Snoopys magic playhouse (something like that, Snoopy puzzle game). I love Snoopy from Charlie Brown but this puzzle game, for the GameBoy, was sooo long and frustrating. I remember that i started crying and my mother came in and said, "i don't like what that game is doing to you!" Maybe some of you have heard this statement before from parents, girlfriends, wifes....maybe?

I'm talking about the USB Wi-Fi adaptor not being compatable with Windows Vista. Vista has been out for sometime now and others have had no problem at all updating there software for this Vista. I haven't been able to go online to play tetris or mario kart in forever. I can't get a wireless router either because i'm stealing internet from the guys next door. I Know...serves me right...but i'm sure there are others with this problem. Any news on this issue??? i love my DS...decided not to get a wii though. I was dissapointed with the presentation of some of the games that ended up coming out for the system. It's good. just not me.

The cheese cake was good. Also that religion comment about right and wrong. Way far off. I had no idea what religon was when i was 4 but i still knew what was right and wrong. I think you're getting too emotional here. have some cheesecake!
