Suppose it's cause a lot of people are comfortable with a soldier class.  Its common, easy to understand and there arent really any hidden tricks.  You are a soldier, can use loads of guns and can kill things.  A lot of people will be happy with this.  Most of them probably wont edit the characters appearance either :P

I think you're pretty much right. Every new person always chooses soldier, such as a friend to whom I recently lended ME1.

Btw, surprisingly enough, he's actually enjoying ME1's combat! :o :P

lol, I play ME1 and try to force myself to think the combat is good.  Compared to ME2 the combat is shocking.  Still a ridiculously good game though :D

if thanix cannons became common for the galactic races then i think we might stand a chance anyway

Reaper shields are impervious to dreadnought fire (as said by EDI), so I doubt the ability of some random frigate's cannon killing a Reaper

Yeah I dont see them being stopped by ships, there seems to be thousands of Reapers.  I think Its's going to be some special event that will allow them to be destroyed...supernova lol

Did anyone play the Vanquish demo? It's really good, kinda like a cross between Unreal Tournament and Mass Effect. I'll definitely be getting it day one.N7v1K0

Played it, was rather cool but I wont be able to get it for a while.  Too many games coming out :D

Of course they won't release if they wont make a profit.  Sales are good and I can safely say I would eat my own fist if a Mass Effect 2 game with all the DLC isn't released before ME3.

It will happen.  It's what happens in modern games.  Companies release dlc and then when they are finally done with the game they release a GOTY edition.  Mass Effect 2 will have all the DLC including the weapon packs etc and will most likely be released 6 months before Mass Effect 3 or maybe a little further back.  They have some free DLC but some that costs money, its obvious they will put this into one package eventually and increase the hype for ME3 even further

Definitely the strongest ME2 DLC, that wasn't really hard though.

Was a little disappointed with who the Shadow Broker was but at least we get a new race out of it.

The boss fights were awesome, hopefully a sign that boss fights in future DLC and Mass Effect 2 will be challenging and more than just standing there shooting.  It was great to do them on Insanity.

I am also encountering a strange bug;

My Mass Effect character had been with Liara.  Then in Mass Effect 2 I used the same character and romanced Tali.  In the DLC I seemed to flirt a bit with Liara but eventually she started making comments about Tali.  Though now when I speak to Tali she has reverted back to her pre Suicide Mission conversation about whether it was the right thing to do, the one where you can reply with "As long as it's safe".  Though I have no more missions to complete :P.  Was hoping something hasn't gone wrong with my character cause I was hoping to use this Tali relationship in ME3 cause I think it could be important

Just finished the DLC there.  Don't worry, I wont be posting spoilers.  It was quite good, I enjoyed doing it but was a little disappointed.  Expected a bit more.

I understand. But still, I personaly cannot wait for the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2, and I am not going to claim that it is any better/worse then the Xbox version. (I doubt that it will come to the Wii though, as Nintendo is taking a diffrent approch to games then Playstation/Xbox.)

majinstrings

 I would actually love to see what Mass Effect would be like on the Wii...

Terrible lol.  I can imagine how weird it would be trying to access the power wheel and tell your squad where to go.  I could see myself throwing the wii out the window...if I had one

I have never actually played an RPG from Japan that I've liked. They always have that over the top, flashy, big haired and eyed rubbish that I have most about Japanese gaming.

The west always makes the best and most realistic RPG games like Borderlands, Fallout, Mass Effect and Elder Scrolls.

But a friend of mine loves the Final Fantasy games and I hate them; maybe it's just personal preference.

I agree with this one.  Especially the description of the Japanese RPGs lol.  I don't have a fascination with Japan like so many people seem to have.  Anime, Final Fantasy and all that just does not interest me.
