No, Sony didnt get a free pass, on that point, but that's something you wouldn't know unless you already bought the system and hooked it up. Further more that issues was not game breaking. You coudl not have the PS3 on the net and it would run fine. what we are talking about are these issues
1. Buying a system that will break at the drop of a hat.
2. Buying a system that in theory would not allow you to borrow, or trade games.
3. Building a system that's noticeably weaker but $100 more exspensive
yes Sony screwed up, and Nintendo screwed up. But Not haveign a zelda or metroid at launch or having your network hacked pail in comparison to buying a system thats a total lemon
