@Mosleyx2003: It really depends on your personal preference. With your setup a 1080p monitor you would get closer to achieving that 144hz on most games than 1440p. Do you want IPS or TN panel? Are you looking for a 1ms response time? You won't have many options for a g-sync monitor around $300. To me smoothness is the most important so I prefer the higher hz over image quality so I'd go with the 1st one 1080p 144hz g-sync with your budget. I've never used g-sync but at lower hz supposed to look smoother so if you can up your budget than 1440p 144hz g-sync. For that I'd choose the Asus Rog Swift.

@insane_metalist: Yeah I agree most companies only broadcast their tv channels in 1080p. Unless you have Netflix I think you can watch it in 4K, or find a way to download a movie off of the Internet in 4K to watch. Why is g-sync so expensive does it really cost hundreds to make? I say hundreds because the g-sync mod kit (which I wish I had) for the vg248qe costs a couple hundred.

@insane_metalist: Even these 1440p monitors with all the bells and whistles don't seem cheap to me. I don't get how you can get a 4K tv for the same price if not less than some 1440p monitors.

@insane_metalist: Even games that arnt fps games I like better above 60hz. 75hz or higher I can handle on like rpg's. No the monitor is 27" 1440p 144hz (165hz) with g-sync 4ms response time.

@JigglyWiggly_: Yeah they arnt very good. Calibrated it best I could and colors still look washed out. I agree 24" 1440p IPS 144hz plus 1ms response time would be the perfect monitor. Tried gaming on a 32inch Samsung tv before and it was just way to big sitting that close to it.

@insane_metalist: yeah once I get that monitor which looks like the one I will get unless something better comes out before I get it, then il get whatever the best Pascal card is being released at that time. I have that asus monitor already the VG248QE. I like it minus the TN panel, and I wanna try out g-sync.

@KHAndAnime: Yeah I agree 144hz is really smooth. Be awesome if I can tell a difference from 144hz-165hz.

@insane_metalist: this is the upcoming Rog swift monitor coming out. I think your thinking of the already released TN panel one.

@JigglyWiggly_: I'm using an Evga SC 980 and my operating system and drivers are on my SSD, and games are saved to my hard drive. I had to do a clean install when upgrading to win 10 so idk if that's the case or if it's my new SSD. It's weird though computer only freezes during gaming. Can be surfing the web or watching a video and no freezes. Tried repairing the game and also reinstalling it. It isn't as bad now as it was before though.
