the only problem im having is my freaking controller wont connect to my PS3! it just keeps blinking...

and now that you mention it i also am having problems with my trophie list.. everytime the trophie sync gets to like 60% i get an error (but i could'nt care less about that problem)

LP4EVA2005

I thought it was just me! I hope Sony fixes that problem with the next release.

i still have my launch 60gb. my best freind just got a slim aroud thanksgiving and ylod last night when we were playin bfbc2.hes gonna send it to sony because he purchased over $100 worth of arcade games map packs and other miscelaneous stuff off psn. he doesnt want the drm issue that im dealing with my xbox 360. i cant access game saves or arcade games that i purchased unless im connected 2live all the time. its not my fault my 360 died a horrible death.

atc-fanatic

The PS3 won't realy have those DRM problems. He will just have to authorize is his new system on the PSN. For your 360 problem all you have to do is transfer the rights to all your purchases from your old system to your new system, which you can do on xbox.com. That way you won't have to be connected to Xbox Live to play your games. ;)

My 60GB launch system died about 6 months ago as well. I had it repaired and installed a 250GB HD into it but still decided to buy a new 250GB PS3 slim to use as my main system. I have packaged up my old PS3 and will keep it for nostalgic purposes (as well as a universal system that can play all PSOne, PS2, and PS3 games :D) I would suggest buying an new one if it is within your means simply because they shouldn't be prone to those problems and keep your old PS3 as a backup.

Honestly, I believe with 100% conviction that gaming will go to digital distribution model sooner rather than later and the PSP Go is a great example of how it should be done. Yes, the screen is slightly smaller but it is a higher quality screen with regard to brightness. The PSP Go has awesome battery life, has the ability to expand to 32GB of storage with an additional M2 memory card (which is what I did) and the ability to have so many games preloaded on the system with absolutely no discs required is an awesome feeling. I think I currently have 10 PSP games and 8 PSOne classics loaded on mine so I can play what I want when I want. I highly recommend it so long as you don't have the stigma others seem to about not actually owning a physical piece of software that they can hold in their hands. Great handheld IMO.

The Go is a lousy example of how digital distribution should be done if you want to have the option of having physical copies of your games. It also benefits to have to option of selling any games that you don't like (something you can't do with a digital copy). That and I'm still not happy with Sony for axing the goodwill program one week before the Go's release. I'm not going to repurchase 20 games just so I can play them in more places than I can with my PSP 1000. I'm not willing to play a rip-off price of $250 either. It better not happen sooner than later, and I doubt it will judging by the sales of this thing thankfully.

You see, where I find fault in what you say is that you do not give any reasons as to why it is a lousy example of how things should be done with digital distribution. Sony's PlayStation Network functions as well as any other distribution model that I have seen in gaming. Given that the average PSP game is apx. 1GB in size, I could have anywhere between 20-35 games preloaded on my PSP Go given that I have maxed it out to 32GB. If I could ever play more than that many games at one time then I would be a gaming wizard. These arguments remind me of when iTunes first started selling digital music. SO many people would say that it would never work and that they simply had to own their physical CDs...now iTunes is the largest music distributor in the United States. All I was trying to say is that this will be the eventual distribution method, either by adoption from consumers or from the developers forcing us to buy games this way. It is simply more cost effective for the company and that will rule the day 99% of the time.

FACT - My local Game store has sold only 6 (as of 3 days ago) of which 2 have been traded back in by the people who bought them.

Hope that helps :D

digimonkey12

I allways talk to the clerks at GAME or Gamestop but they all such fanboys of "other consoles" and they always like to tell me how little the regular PSP sells in the first place so I wont bother to ask them about the "PSPgo situation" LOL

I have to say to TC that since you are used to a DS you might prefere the PSPgo.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, the game clerks at game stores have been dead WRONG on so many things over the years I simply don't listen to a word they say. When it comes to the PSP Go any retailer will try to badmouth it because they don't make any money at all on hardware sales. They rely on software sales and the PSP Go does not allow that for them. It is kind of a game retailers worst nightmare because they lose out on game trades and being able to sell the highly profitable used games.

Yeah, you have to remember that most USB ports don't actually put out enough power to fully charge a battery compared to a traditional AC adaptor. You should be able to make the PSP go again (pardon the pun) if you use the AC adaptor.

I agree, easily the best year so far for the PSP.

If you go in and erase the payment method and then reenter the information the problem will most likely be rectified.
